  1. Well I think it would be a lot of wood but maybe not if it's a neck thru and that way the fins would not need to have so much wood or it could be a multy lamenate body. !!METAL MATT!!
  2. Wow realy nice burst and the color is........................ Iam speachless LGM legendary guitars!! !!METAL MATT!!
  3. I just saw that pic for the first time today and I like that it go's well with the rest of the design so fare it's realy looking good and I like the Inverted axe don't you? !!METAL MATT!!
  4. you know I dont normaly like that style of flying-V but you made that one look so cool I my have to try some thing like it and I love that stain NICE WORK!! and is that a layer of purpleheart I see in there do you like the sound of it with the maple? !!METAL MATT!!
  5. oh ok thats what you ment any way with the tips if you sand them just a bit so the finish won't crack off thats what I ment sorry about that any way I think the horns would look good pulled outward a little maybe 1"1\3 !!METAL MATT!!
  6. I agree I don't think you will have any problems with the tip's if you do it like that and just an idea that ive been working on for flying-V's I think it would look cool with just the one humbucking pickup maybe a EMG-81 at the bridge and a mini toggle switch for the dual coil and eather a push\pull pot or volume and tone pots I like the bride idea I think string thru look's good on flying-V's as for the jack I have been thinking of doing that for a wile and I think it's a great idea and I would go with black hardHardware it look's cool with Mahogany. !!METAL MATT!!
  7. Hew there I finily got a chance to look at those pics and I like what I see first off you have the bridge off and thats a good thing if you still want to put on a new neck on the guitar but I like the old neck but I agree it is a bit small and iam a big guy too so I know where your comeing from and I agree with bluespresence it sure look's like a Teisco to me at least it look's like his oh ya by the way puting on a longer neck might make it neck heavy and a MOD like this will be hard work but fun for sure so how much did you pay for it if it was a lot leave it alone if not much go for it!! keep me posted hope to hear from you soon. !!METAL MATT!!
  8. So then did you want them rounded off a bit I think that would work beter I like the litle hook thing but that might break off with out some beefing up either way I like it so it's up to you. oh ya and I would still like to see an example of the scalloping that ive been hearing about. Thanks !!METAL MATT!!
  9. I think it looks good sofare and I dont think that the tips of the V will be a problem if you round them a bit any way what are you using for hardware and are you going to put a top on or are you leaving it the way it is !!METAL MATT!!
  10. Well I'am sorry to have upset you so much I did not now the my 3-PIC'S where so hard to look at and I like to think before I act so thats why I have posted these pic's hear so I can get opinions of others who may be more experienced than me. I have been makeing progress but I dont as of yet have a digital camera to take some pic's of what iam working on now and what Ive done sofare any way as fare as the points breaking off it's never happend before but you may be right but the pic is just an idea when I build it I can take that in to accont and compensate so thanks for the heads up and iam glade you like it and I respect your opinion Thanks !!METAL MATT!!
  11. Hey could someone show me an example of the scalloping just to give me an idea thanks!! !!METAL MATT!!
  12. this is for PerryL it his pic I just did some some work on it sorry that it took me so long but ive been at work it's not the best but hears what I got with it . !!METAL MATT!!
  13. I like that I can see the stealth in it I'll work on it and post it for you and we all can see what it might look like. I would like to see some more idea's from every one I think it would be cool to get some options and idea's and mabe this will give some outhers out there some new ideas!! and in my mind that's the whole point. !!METAL MATT!!
  14. NICE WORK!! great finish looks soft and very comfortable and I think that the screw placement work's fine and look's good like you ment to do it. !!METAL MATT!!
  15. This my sound dumb but what do you mean extend the lower part just a bit do you mean the whole lower half of the guitar. !!METAL MATT!!
  16. I was thinking the same thing with the first one so I made a body template [like GuitarMaestro said I shoud do thanks GuitarMaestro for the heads up] and I found that the design was to hard to play and it did not sit very well with it being so wide so I did some work and came up with the new one and I like it !!METAL MATT!!
  17. OWWWW now you made me think and I smell smoke any way I realy like the Black Walnut idea hear's some of what I think!! A) Will the Walnut be a better "tone wood" for the attachment point, or would the Poplar be better? I think the Walnut is the better tone wood but that depends on what sound you like Does an increase in surface/joint area increase the transfer of sonic energy, or decrease it? huh to much for me but Ill go for a 50\50 chance and say yes it dose increase the transfer of sonic energy thingie I guess no just kinding I realy think it dose !!METAL MATT!!
  18. Well I've done some more fiddling and I came up with this and I think it's alot beter then my other one and i like it alot more but what do you think? !!METAL MATT!!
  19. I think you'd have to move the bridge for that not that hard but it will take some time and Iam a Canadian I hail from saskatoon and I will take a look at those pics and i will try to help !!METAL MATT!!
  20. I was thinking the same thing last night so I think I going to buy some P.D.F and do a body template I don't think I will have a problem tho but better to play it safe. Iam thinking the same thing dimarzios or EMG-81's I like that are you going to build it if so what are you going to use for wood? !!METAL MATT!!
  21. HI guys I was fiddling with a new idea for a guitar today it's based on the B.C.Rich beast I used a beast pic to make this guitar Iam not set on building it yet so I was wondering what you all think I know that all that is important is if I like it but I still want to know what you think!! Thanks !!METAL MATT!!
  22. hey welcome to the froum I like the paint on the Strat so any way what kind of neck are you using for the hollow body and are you painting it or staying with the same finish Thanks !!METAL MATT!!
  23. Hey Iam using the same neck for a 9-string flying-V project that iam working on it's going to be the same idea as a B.C.Rich birch with string mounting ferruls on the headstock I had to MOD the string nut and the bridge but no big deal. any way great looking guitar!! are you going to dye the top. !!METAL MATT!!
  24. Thanks guy's that would be cool!! !!METAL MATT!!
  25. O-Ya I can see that you know I think that's realy cool I love that top and I have never seen one like it before very nice design, it's got that beautiful MEAN look to it keep us posted!! !!METAL MATT!!
