  1. What kind of fretboard??
  2. Yeah, that's a good idea engraving it before I fold it. I think that's what I'll do. Thanks.
  3. I can do everything except the metal lathe. It's at the schools shop, and they have all the tools. I'll probably just get a sheet, heat it up a little, then bend it into place. Actually a sheet wouldn't really work, cause I'd have to solder it, but I could grind off the excess. Ahhh decisions decisions. It would probably be too thin to weld
  4. Yeah, can't you polish up Stainless Steel to a near mirror finish?? And what about this nickel silver, that sounds interesting too.... The mods put it in, because I had this in the tools and workshop place, and they decided to move it. No biggie...
  5. I'm gonna be making it in my metal working class, so I can't do ceramic or any of that. The mods put that in...
  6. For christmas, I'm gonna make my dad and bro a slide. Does anybody of any nice metals to make it out of. I was thinking silver (Maybe a little too expensive), bronze, that would be nice. I probably need it sold in the tube form...
  7. I need the following. Double Cream pickups Sperzel 3 +3 chrome schaller roller bridge (6 string) Oh yeah, I also need a Gibson stats ebony fingerboard. 22 frets......... And what I have to trade is a rare Epiphone Poly V guitar body. It's mahogany with a flamed maple top, turquoise, set up for HH, Floyd, and a bolt on neck. Pictures can be available. Great for a project or something, I don't know where you could get a neck, but you can build on yourself......
  8. man blues, you are a bad bad man . Hope you enjoy them, if you worked hard for your money then you deserve some nice ric's
  9. whenever you get it spread lemon oil all over that fingerboard. it did wonders for my old harmony banjo's fingerboard
  10. Dude, you could sell the tuners bridge and pickups for well over $50. Good buy.
  11. Yeah, I'm gonna get some crappy wood to practice on. I looked at my dad's LP, and I love it. I AM going to have the back and sides natural, as was his. His top was at least 1/2" though. So would that be really hard to make sure it's 1/4" (or width of binding) all around the edges??? Also, where do you start when you carve? Cause it starts at the edges does a dip (moving toward the center), climbs up, takes a dip, then levels at 1/4". Thanks, for your patience with a Rookie like myself.
  12. No, I'm gonna do my paint job exactly like Gibson's, except on a double cutaway type thing. I'm planning on carving the top, w/ cream binding, but I won't leave the edges natural. Dangit, this is gonna be more complicated than I thought...... 1/4" isn't thick enough to carve the top, so I guess I'm gonna have to shell out for the 3/4" or something like that....
  13. That's a shame, I've seen your other work and it's beautiful
  14. Ok, I'll add that to my order here in a few weeks. Have you ever done one, pics??
  15. Have any of you done a vintage sunburst like on the LP?? Can I get some pictures, and can you tell what you used and how hard it was?? Also for a LP (style) guyitar, you can't do a drop top, so do you start with a 1/4" top, or thicker??? thanks
  16. Okay, Carvin makes double creams (At least for now) so I think I'm gonna get one. Has anybody tried their pickups?? I hear the C and H series are too bright, but what about the m22's??? Kinda a PAF sound??
  17. How much is $52,000 yen??? lol. That's a bummer man, I really wanted double cream.......
  18. Dude awesome, how did you know how much to carve??? Do you have plans or an LP on you?? Or did you just go with the flow and do what feels best?
  19. I could do that, or have any of you tried any Dimarzio pickups??? I said they suck because I was mad, but maybe they'll work. If they made Gibson's pickups (Which I didn't know), then they are probably good. Can I get double cream in all of their pickups??
  20. Dimarzio is gay. Gibson was making them as early as 59'. Dimarzio make crappy pickups. Just because they are dumb, they're gonna ruin it for the rest of us??? It's like saying only Fender guitars can be sunburst, or something stupid.
  21. Okay, so I can't have burstbuckers. Do any of you know any double cream pickups that have the classic LP, PAF, Jimmy Page sound??? Thanks
  22. I want burstbucker pros in my guitar, and I want them to be double creams. Would it screw up the pickup to take the bobbins out and replace them, or do you know of any other pickup that's double cream??? Like Jimmy Page's bridge pickup.
