  1. Well u gonna have some comp cause im aimming for a chritmas GOTM too, but im sure ur's will kill mine lol, congrats, can i have one? I dont own a tele...
  2. Im just curious how much a gun would cost that would be good enough to spray guitars with? My brother was gonna give me his gun to use, it cost like 150 or so. Im not sure of the brand but i can prolly find out if its that important. He uses it to shoot primer on cars with thats about it.
  3. Perry, wow is all that comes out of my mouth.... I would make love to that guitar if you would let me lol...
  4. Once the dirt is on there do u just have to sand it off to make it go away or is there a removing process?
  5. how often do u guys oil them? seems like a lot of upkeep and time, in which i dont have sometimes, i might just spray it cause i wont have time to sit down and oil it all the time.
  6. What grit do u guys start on for sanding like fingerboard binds (any plastic) and what do u guys end on?
  7. I was working on my jem neck standing it the other day and start thinking about just sanding it up to 2000 grit or so and leaving it raw. Althought i have never played a raw maple neck, it would be interesting to have one. I know some people love them, like zakk wylde and some people hate them. I just wanted everyones ones opinion who has played one, also if i left it raw what kind of oil would i put on it to preserve it and how ofter Thanks
  8. I looked around the board (used search) and cant seem the find the thread that tells how to put the high pass filter on the pot, i wanna do this on my new jem im building, could someone link me?
  9. i say 60 just to start it out, i always start 60 makes things easier for me, eh maybe its just me
  10. you crazy kids with your pointy guitars, i will never understand yall lol.
  11. ur gonna have to put them in, leave them a little above the board, take some 60 grit and just do them one by one. Start off with 60 but work ur way up as they get closer to the board, thay way by time they are flat you are up to a high enough grit so the sanding scratch are pretty much gone. BTW why no radius sanding block? are u not planning on sanding the fretboard at all?
  12. I dont think u did, i did a explorer for my first build. Quite a fun project.
  13. I used to think the same when i saw those, i heard they are crap, the effects barely work and just a pile lol cool concept tho
  14. Lots of work done today, i skipped school lol, who needs school when you have guitars to build? Not me today i broke my router back out and finally finished the bodys up. The jem just needed the battary cavity cleaned up, so i did that along with made the lip for the plastic covers to sit on. The V needed a whole electionic cavity along with the lip so i did that as well. So the bodys are finally finished (with exception of the neck cavity being routed, but waiting till i finish up the necks to do that) and everything is starting to really starting to come together, Like i said before im giong to try and have the fretboards along with the truss rods glued in place this weekend. I definitly know i can to the truss rods, but my led wiring has been goofy, so i have to wait for my cousin to come to town, which will be this weekend or next. Ill keep u guys posted.
  15. yeah man, dumb me i didnt even think about google, man i feel like a noob now..... thanks man.

  17. Alright quick update, stole my brothers camara lol and got some quick pics, not the best but its a start. i will take some better ones toamrrow when i get home from school. Here are the pics (note im horrid with a camara, im learning and getting a little bit better) This is the plastic top a shop cut in town vs one that im cutting myself, (note, the one im cutting still has the protective plastic on it) http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/DuffB.../Picture008.jpg One with no flash. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/DuffB.../Picture004.jpg Both boards lit up at the sametime.
  18. Dont know if u took the time to read the last couple of post above but i dont have a camara right now. Today i finished my flying v fretboard up to 2000 grit and started sanding my jem neck. Right now im getting everything ready for trussrod glueing and fretboard attachment, im hoping to do this sometime this week.
  19. Well, is this going to be painted or natural? If painted u could easily cut a block and put it in there if no then is ur neck already built? If no then just make the part where the heel of the neck (where it glues in) as long as the neck pocket. About the binding i have no idea...
  20. Well, there is turbocad which is free, but it u want a good autocad program u are going to have to buy one, or you could "borrow" one like i did lol
  21. Update, got fretboard sanded up to 2000, lit it up and an led had burnt out from the last solder joint i fixed, so now i have to pull it back out and resand that area back up to 2000 again. well keep posted
