  1. Drak, i removed all the sealer, and sanded everything back, i don't have a pore filler and i believe it's catalized lacquer cuz that's was what i was told it was at the store, it came with a catalizer to mix, so i believe it's catalized lacquer, also i didn't read any of your posts regarding it but i shot a coat in my backyard and i was wearing a mask, the first coat came out pretty good and it really brings out the character of the mahogany, now i am just awaiting for the lacquer to harden to sand and apply the neck coat, i was planning to sand in between coats to a 320 grit, then for the final coat, wet sanding on 600, 1000, 1500 and 2000, so that's it...i'll read your old posts...Thanx man
  2. well i was gonna remove all the sealer i applied yesterday, I have acatalizaed lacquer in clear gloss, should i aplly it directly? in the directions it says i should use it along with sealer...i also bought that catalized lacquer in cherry for another guitar i'll paint that color, same procedure? apply directly and then clear gloss?
  3. the guitar is all mahogany, and it's gonna be natural, no stains just natural mahogany, sealer+ clear gloss coat. I was applying the sealer and got that dust under each coat....
  4. Hi guys i was applying sealer to my guitar, I was sanding between coats and the first 2 went well, but at the third one apparently i didn't clean up well and got dust under the 3rd coat, what should i use to keep the guitar clean between coats? a wet rag? cuz i was buffing it out with a dry cloth but that aparently didn't take care of it, thanx
  5. I find neck thru's way easier to build, provided you're not messing with a neck angle, then it can be more difficult, but not that much, there's no neck pocket to mess with
  6. I'm fretting this neck thru body guitar i built, it's got a bound neck, so i started fretting it, i cut the fret tang so the fret would go over the binding, now the problem is that the fret ends won't stay down, how can i solve this?? thanx
  7. looks great man! but if i was you i'd shave that heel down just my personal preference
  8. when laminating necks i think first of stability and then of looks, the first neck i laminated was simply 3 pieces of mahogany, so it looks like it's a single mahogany piece, I wanted to make a bass with a mahogany/purpleheart/ mahgany, but right now my plan is to make a 7 string guitar neck consisting of mahogany, purpleheart, mahogany, purpleheart, mahogany, with rosewood railers a lá Bc Rich
  9. 1.- BC Rich Warlock Max Cavalera camo graphic 2.- BC Rich Warlock Kerry King tribal wartribe 3.- Jackson Randy Rhoads 4.- Jackson Roswell Rhoads
  10. I entered because i thought there were 2 categories which was : built from scract and mod, i guess i wouldn't have won any! haha
  11. I like ebony in terms of looks and feel, it feels like playing on glass, very smooth, not all shredder guitars have rosewood boards, and the reason they don't use ebony it's because that most shredder guitars are Ibanez. the Jackson Solist sl1 and sl 2 both come an ebony fretboard
  12. hahah my only vote is my own! please, someone vote for me!!!! although is gonna be tough, that RG is GORGEOUS:)
  13. OK I'll enter my modified BC Rich warlock bronze, on of course, modded guitars, I replaced it's plywood body for a new mahogany body, the only pieces left of the original warlock were the neck, bridge and volume knob. Since i don't like bolt ons, I glued the neck down to the body, I also gave it a camo paint job, and it's got a single seymour duncan SH-6 distortion humbucker, the pot is a di marzio 500K pot, and a switchcraft jack http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/edd...warlockcopy.jpg
  14. I agree on the english thing, see, my native language is spanish and it's taken me a long of time to speak and write it half decent, and both languages are , in a way, kind of related even though spanish descents from latin and english from anglosaxon, but Korean??? same goes to japanese and chinese, my hats off to you Hyunsu, great guitar working skills ( and damn fast!) and your english is very good and getting better, keep up the good work man
  15. that explorer is for sale, so if someone is willing to pay shipping from Venezuela... so is the super strat
  16. that guitar looks great!! but i think it needs neck bindings , awesome finish i wish i could paint one of my guitars like that!

  19. most people thinks that a neck thru body is hard to build, in my humble opinion, is the easiest no neck pockets nor tenons to mess with, you just have to set the neck angle with a tune o matic , which i set at 4º, and that was it
  20. yup, and actually, the fretboard will be a bit thinner, 5mm thick
  21. sure there is a neck angle, 4 degrees just doesn't show in the pics, i will take better pics showing the neck angle tomorrow
  22. nope, it's a regualr TOM, i just haven't made the holes for the posts, thanks for the kind words
  23. ok guys, finally, some pics! wish i could have taken pictures of all the steps though...oh well, here are some pictures, it's an all mahogany guitar with rosewood stringers, that fretboard is just for the mockup picture, it'll have a bound ebony fretboard, no inlays, that fretboard is for my Warlock project http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/edd...k/guitarra1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/edd...k/guitarra2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/edd...ck/guitarra.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/edd...ck/imag0001.jpg
