  1. I wish I was there at least when the richmond trading post was closing. He had above the door a gun guitar, I think made by Hondo. I still think the one Peter Tosh had was much better. -Jamie
  2. Maybe ill bid and drive up there. It's about an 8 hour drive there and I can just sell what I don't want, which would be the Rack gear, the soloist, and maybe one of the cabinets. -Jamie
  3. Alrighty I see. Well, you could go with behringer gear. I'm not sure how good they are but they are pretty damn decent for the price. I did a search for you, just to give you ideas. Behringer http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=bass...ase_pid/480675/ Fender http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=bass...ase_pid/480721/ Gallien-Kruger http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=bass...ase_pid/482534/ and the cab http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=bass...ase_pid/601050/ you may have to just go to the store and check these out. Recommending gear on this site can lead to a lot of agreements and disagreements and you may end up more confused. At least this will give you an idea of what to try lol.
  4. My friend has one like it, from the same series. It just has the precision pickup, and 2 knobs. I am not a bass player, however a lot of people have recommended for a good bass in your price range the Epiphone EB-0. Whatever anyone suggests in this thread, try it out. For a bass amp, http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=bass...ase_pid/482037/ that should do. By the way, why not just find another bass player? They are tricky to find, at least in Toronto, but if you look hard, you'll find one, and it saves you money.
  5. Take a course in high school or college on electronics. There is no rush, and in the end, wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy the spyder II? It's 500 bucks and i'm told its more expensive building amps, unless it's custom ones (like 2000 dollar fender ones i assume).
  6. Search for guilford-custom-guitars on ebay. He sells cocobolo, flame maple, and brazilian rosewood pickup rings.
  7. It's like fathers day or mothers day, except only I get to celebrate it, so i believe you owe me a present I don't think that guitar is koa. I think it's just mahogany. -Jamie
  8. Greg, you are so right. I live in Toronto and in Toronto there's a whole street of pawn shops, and every single one of them has maybe one to four guitars. all of them are garbage. There was a store here called the Richmond trading post and it had about 50+ guitars, most of them 60s japanese stuff, ranging from 50-100 bucks. Yes it is particle board, however not bad to start a fret repair on, or put it on ebay and im sure it'll sell since these types of guitars are going up.
  9. i thought you were buying it for me for my birthday, or for Jamie's day. You do know that there is such a day called Jamie's day don't you? it's like fathers day or mothers day, except only I get to celebrate it.
  10. Try everything in your price range out. There is no perfect guitar, except the one YOU find. We are all going to agree on some and disagree on lots more. Try out Yamahas. They are affordable and they do make good quality acoustics. I have tried about 3-4 yamaha acoustics and they are good guitars for the price.
  11. should've bid. no one did and it was going for a buck lol
  12. you may also want to take an electronics course through highschool, or college (when you get there). it can help a lot im sure.
  13. here matt. This is nothing but METAL hahaha. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...7332575047&rd=1
  14. It might be easier to just go through Warmoth where you can get an Indian rosewood body and neck for 785 american. Yeah it's not Brazilian, but still, if you're gunning for the rosewood, it might be the second best thing, or the best thing if you do not like brazilian rosewood. Body http://www.warmoth.com/showcase/sc_guitar_...=0&filters=true Neck http://www.warmoth.com/showcase/sc_guitar_...=0&filters=true
  15. it does look like an old carvin, but the headstock logo is puzzleing me. www.carvinmuseum.com
  16. Why not just do black with a red trim? simplicity does go a long way. Vader uses Ran guitars. I personally think they look terrible, except the custom one made for Vader which may be right for you. If you click on the link it should show a picture of a V, with red trim. I think their standard guitars are horrible. I like black, don't get me wrong, i have a black yamaha, however if there only lineup is just black stuff, it shows me no interest. http://www.ranguitars.com/_en/index.htm If you were to do something like this V, I would say go with matching Red Sperzel tunners, and red plastic pickup rings. If you can't find where to buy them, then look here. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=17448 I asked about it the other day.
  17. the body is swamp ash. What you do is rub red grain filler into the body and spray it with ebony. something like that. do a search and you'll find it dude. EDIT: I was bored, so being the nice guy I am, I did the search for you lol. the last link is probably the best. I think the Voodoo has been discontinued by Gibson, and if they were around, don't even think about asking them for the black knobs with red numbers, they don't sell them, and i couldn't find a website that carried them. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...=9865&hl=voodoo http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...=8032&hl=voodoo http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...=5431&hl=voodoo http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...=3614&hl=voodoo
  18. they look okay, however the body design is terrible. it looks like a strat, tele, and PRS collided
  19. if he shipped world wide im sure it would be higher by now. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...7331899781&rd=1
  20. is that a satin ebony stain on the headstock or what? This piece looks really nice!
  21. I am looking for a set of Red Plastic pickup rings. I can't find them on any site. I know Brian sells coloured pickup rings on universaljems.com but they're not listed, and they're not available for international shipping. Does anyone know of any website that sells red plastic pickup rings? Thanks. -Jamie
  22. 100 bucks to ship the guitar? i see guitars being shipped at around 50.
  23. seems like he bought it from john. "God Damn, you always have the COOOOLEST S$%T! Who do you know? Where do you get your stuff?" "The good stuff is out there, you just need to pay more to get it" even if it was keith richards telecaster i still wouldn't buy it. what am i going to do with a guitar owned by an artist? Play it? Or hang it on my wall? Either way it's not worth it, not to mention how he replied to that guy from indonesia, for what reason, i dunno why.
