  1. Ahem, perhaps so, but they are still producing it, along with a new Noodles sig (NDM2), which funilly enough is not covered with duck tape! http://www.imuso.co.uk/images/Product/EG01071.jpg
  2. I got a cloudy-as-s**t hardtail here right now and am stumped. Will try rubbing it down, but I doubt it will work. Hell, you buy cheaper hardware, you get what you pay for I suppose.
  3. My point was no matter how much you argue, you will NOT be able to change the minds of some people.
  4. What the hell! Who the hell cares. I couldn't give two s**ts whether Satriani got classified as Instrumental rock or Pop Punk, I still enjoy it. This "Emocore vs Screamo" argument is no different to the "Punk or Pop-Punk" thing. Thanks to the mainstream media there are no boundries between the two whatsoever. It's the eternal debate you can't win (or lose). It gets old really quick and yet it's still debated by many. The bottom line is, regardless of your opinion, or whatever you believe, someone out there is gonna think the complete opposite, now it's your choice whether you grow a sack and accept it (and realize it's such a stupid little issue anyhow), or try and argue with them.
  5. If you were happy to let this baby go for 20 AUD including shipping to a poor high-school student, who *insert sob-story here*...Then I'm your buyer. Sweet Axe mate.
  6. Shaping of the template is now done. I still have to rout the cavities, etc, but I think I will wait until I've got my blank. A relative has chipped in some money as a gift, so when it hits my bank account I have enough money for the run home! (enough money to cover pretty much everything else I need to buy!) I still need the bridge pickup, body blank, some misc items (screws, pots, etc) and paint (spraycan primer/filler, spraycan metallic green (booyah!)). I'm gonna be borrowing other paints for the design.
  7. Hmm, we might have a drum sander at my school. I was gonna do the easier parts (the basic shaping and whatnot) with something like this: http://www.shopfoxtools.com/images/W1708.jpg The harder bits, like the cutaways and whatnot will require a drum sander or dremel type thing I suppose. When you speak of a drum sander, you are referring to something like this, I assume?: http://www.intarsia.com/Flex-Drum-Sander.jpg
  8. I like the look of that first one! How do you guys get your templates perfect size and shape? I've used a bandsaw to get a rough cut, but still need to sand down to the lines. I'm guessing I will just have to use a combination of hand and belt sanding. I should have bought a damn template, I could have had my body half finished by now!
  9. To be honest I really don't dig the FPs! and theres kind of a satisfaction to doing something different, albeit only a slight difference.
  10. Aww, don't say that! I thought it looked boring as sh!t with the old design, and I stated all along I wanted it to be an unusual guitar. I actually like the flower. Sure, the green and black is cool but when the flower hit's you it really brigtens up the guitar. I could paint little red flowers next to the headstock logo to even it out a bit.
  11. Which one do you prefer?? 1... 2.... or 3?
  12. Finally started on my plywood template today. Pics up soon.
  13. Cheers. If I get flanged ferrules from Stewmac I should be able to press them right into a 5/16 hole.
  14. Got the hardware today, and damn, the strings have to be strung through the body. I was under the impression that the strings could be strung through the back of the bridge, but not on this one. Which means I'm going to have to do something like what I guess you'd find on the back of a tele, those little ferrule thingos holding the ball ends. Too bad I have no idea how to do that. What do I do, just drill a small holes for the strings and insert the ferrules in the back and they will just hold? Some help please! EDIT: I suppose I can just use a drill press, drill straight through and press in some of those flanged ferrules.
  15. Will be picking up the tuners, bridge, nut and input jack tomorrow. Have organized myself at school a bit better, and should be starting on a body template next week, and am beginning to organize what I'm going to be doing to get the finish done. It's finnally starting to roll!
  16. Not much to update on, other than the Tuner, Bridge and Nut came in today. Will be picking them up soon and will up some photos. Got some photocopies of my design plan so I'm ready to go into school and create a template. I'll let you know how that goes. EDIT: My input jack came in too, so that really only leaves the selector, pots, bridge pickup, body blank and paint.
  17. Looks pretty smick Rhoads. Off topic here, but oh well. Robert, you don't know Dan Irizarry from Australia by any chance? Probably not, but meh. He has one of those funny Australian-American hybrid accents, so it was a possibility.
  18. Got the neck bucker today, looks ok, we will wait and see how it sounds, as it's a cheapy. Still waiting on my damn hardware.
  19. I was just thinking of what else I need to buy... - Primer & Green (some jungle-looking shade of green) for base coat (spray cans). - Bridge Humbucker (Praying for a FRED or EVO 2. In fact, after all this time thinking about Evos I completely forgot about the FRED, which makes some of the coolest tones I've ever heard (via Satch's godlike hands, mind you). - Body Blank (Poplar, one piece) - Strap buttons (Probably rip the straplocks off of my TD Strat and chuck them on the JEM, then put regular strap buttons on the Strat) I also need to buy/bribe a good artist at my school to paint the design on the body & headstock.
  20. Scrubbed it down a bit, got rid of all the damn greasy fingermarks (and the ibanez/RG logo.
  21. PICS! : http://photobucket.com/albums/a309/neocon5...0JEM%20project/ (dunno if this link will work) http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a309/neo...ct/P1050204.jpg
  22. Haha, yeah I'm glad I'm moving along too. I hate sitting around when things can be done so I get into it! The hardest thing about doing this as a school project is you have to pace yourself out throughout a whole year! On the plus side, my parents are funding some of the project, only because it's through school and it's my senior year there! So I'm happy about that. I'm getting one of those cheapass "Pure Tone" Humbuckers from Ebay for the neck position, that will fill the space nicely for the time being until I can afford an Air Norton or PAF Joe. The single coil position will be filled by an old "Suzuki" pickup from an old school strat copy. My friends giving me that for free so that's cool! As for the bridge pickup, I'm definently getting the exact one I want for that, which will probably be a Fred or EVO 2. I'm sure you could give it a nice new home, I don't think I will let you though!
  23. Nothing much to report, other than I am still waiting on the bridge/tuners/nut to arrive. Won't be buying a bridge pickup just yet, and when the time does come, I'll be buying either an Evo, Evo 2, or FRED, depending on what is on ebay at the time. There is always at least one or two of the three somewhere on ebay that will ship to Oz.
