  1. Here's some interesting stuff. http://www.gould68.freeserve.co.uk/lprusers/lprusers.html
  2. Yeah, something a little, um, disturbing about the jack placement.
  3. It's Olympic White, a standard Fender color. You can get it in rattle cans from Reranch. Here's Fender's 2002 clone of the Woodstock guitar: http://www.stratcollector.com/newsdesk/arc...0183.html#clone
  4. It ought to peel right off. Lightly scratch at the edge with your fingernail.
  5. Here's a picto of what Russ is talking about by David Myka. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...&hl=binding
  6. I guess you could do that if you're taking it to Earl Scheib. You really should completely disassemble the guitar before any refinishing. I'd think that was the obvious part.
  7. For regular gigs I use pedals. We play a big variety of music, and I want my amp's clean tone untouched. That's why I have 3 different overdrive/distortion pedals on my board. That said, for small gigs and jams I use a smaller amp set just to the point of breaking up with the guitar's volume knob for control, and a pedal for solos.
  8. The guard is mint, the covers and knobs are "aged". Muzz, it's the stock hardtail, which I found out is about 1/8" to 3/16" wider than a normal trem baseplate. Had to trim the pickguard to fit. John, all I did was put on a Tusq nut with a slightly wider string spacing. The frets were very nice, no extra work required. I should say that this is one of the Indonesian models built by Cort. I think the current Bullet models have a CY serial number. Don't know about the quality. Thanks for the compliments.
  9. I dint check your links probably says the same thing. I emailed Reranch when I could not get on the Yahoo site to order about 6 months ago. I did get a email reply that he was too busy to add additional orders to his work load. So when he is really busy he brings the site down. Seems like he wants his shop kept small and probably wants to not have to add staff or expand. Seems a little excentric to me to not expand if the market is there. Ok, whatever. I wasn't asking for complaints (I don't work for Bill). The thing is, www.reranch.com is down today so I just offered another way into the store, which was open when I posted the link.
  10. If you're trying to get into the Reranch store today, try this link: http://reranchstore.stores.yahoo.net/
  11. I'd like to jump in here and say that if you haven't tried the Strat sets, you don't know what you're missing. They're absolutely the best value for vintage style Strat pickups. I have the Classic Blues set in one of my Strats and it pretty much nails the mid-60s tone. Tons of sparkle, they'll quack and cluck, they'll even snort like a pig if you're into that.
  12. Not negative at all. The clear has a bit of amber tint that doesn't show up in the pics. It's not quite as "electric" in person. As for the decal, it's part of a theme I started on my parts guitars. Blackie, Brownie, Blondie, now Sonic. Shamocasters.
  13. Basis for mod: $60 Squier Bullet click Body painted Rustoleum Harbor Blue, Minwax gloss poly clear. Neck finished in Reranch neck amber and Rustoleum gloss clear lacquer. click Tusq nut, Diesel Alnico pups, GFS Kluson kindalike tuners, mint green guard, "aged" knobs and covers, stock bridge and wiring, custom "non-Fender" decal. Total cost: under $150. This guitar went from being a turd that never got played into something that looks, sounds and plays like a guitar many, many times its price. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout. Awwww yeeeah.
  14. Send a PM to member Mickguard. He's somewhere in France too and seems to have found or improvised everything he needed to produce a GOTM entry.
  15. Mick, quirky as usual. I expect nothing less from you, bud, that's why I voted for it.
  16. Hyunsu uses merbau a lot (his translation comes out as "merlbau"). http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...lite=%2Bmerlbau
  17. The store is open now. Get it while it's hot. http://reranchstore.stores.yahoo.net/index.html Also, here's an explanation about the store. http://reranch.com/reranch/viewtopic.php?t=12534
