  1. It reminds me a guitar called Regvlvs, of guitarrist Sergio dias from The Mutants, a classic brasilian acid rock band. I´m not a big fan of Mutants, guess that Sergio isn´t a great musician like all people do here in Bras(z)il thinking, but your guitar is a mith. Regvlvs was made by Sergio´s brother, in middle of the 60´s. It a copy ( just in the aspect ) of a Guild Duane Eddy, but all the rest it´s another story. The guitar was made with your entire interior with gold, and the builder put a spell inside it writed into a gold plate: "That everyone who disrespect the integrity of this instrument, able to find or possess it unlawfully, or that it makes defamatory comments, build or try to build a copy thereof, is not legitimate its creator, finally, that it does not stay in the condition of mere observer submissive in relation to it, is pursued by the forces of evil until they belong completely and forever. And that the instrument returns to its rightful owner intact, indicated by the one who built it. ". The guitar was stolen once in his history and came back to his owner without a risk. The golden foils its a great idea to finish, the build it´s great till here, I´m will folow this thread to the final result!! Congrats!!
  2. Stain testing Coat base A Coat B Final Result
  3. It´s almost! Just the PU varnish and polish it will be done!
  4. Great!! Absolutly great! I´m not a big fan of wood parts, bridges and covers, but in this project all wood parts have a nice harmony. I just think that the fretboard inlays could be smaller and with no MOP contour onto the abalone, just it. Looking the pictures make me wish to have one of this with 7 strings!
  5. Just details with MOP at bind sharp edges.
  6. I forgot to say, the body inlays are made with Marfim wood
  7. This guitar I made for myself use, Brasilian Cedar Body, marfim neck, cocobolo fretboard, True mop inlays pickguard and trus rod cover, EMG select pickups. That was the original build. Now I change the neck, putting one with orginal headstock, made with Grapia and Guajuvira finger board. I change de pickups too, by a emg 81 85 ZW set. This is my main guitar, I´m not a big fan of kiss but a huge fan of iceman and your varieties.
  8. very nice avenger!! i´m think very seriously to do another iceman to myself seeing your build!
  9. Back to the garage? no way! The idea is to make a dust collector system, to get dust free out of glass room.
  10. Not exaclty at second floor, but in a mezzanine. This is my shop/office in works (kitchen and bathroon remake) At mezzanine is the atelier above the living room (futurely) at back the kitchen and bathroon and where I´m am will be the office. Its a place that I´m renovating to multiple use, to my kid plays, to make a mess out home, call friends to drink and eat something at fridays nite, to receive customers ( luthiery or informatics ) a multiporpouse room. When the winter comes I´ll put a fire place to warm de place and a barbecue at summers! kekeek
  11. This work it´s so wonderfull that deserve a better cam. Okay I use a little sony digicam to take build progress pics and a Pro Nikon with two aux flashes to the final pics, but this build ask for!
  12. Some day I´ll try to do an acoustic guitar, but, seeing this topic I see that I need learn a little bit more to this! Very nice and clean work! Congrats!
  13. I don´t think that arch tops in general are painful to do, I like especialy the PRS´s, gibson´s are good to do too. I´ll try a jig in the next lespaul porject to route the bind chanels. Of course I´ll keeping work, I love wood/hand working!! Tks for the advices!!
  14. The jigs are greate 3dog! I use to route de binding chanels before arch top was made, when still flat, after I make the pre-shape of the arch top. Then the bind glue and excess trimmed with sand ending the arch. But looking back the pictures my mistake was not cleaned or sanding well the body contour. Tks Scott n 3Dog
  15. I know that its far to be good, but let´s see the final result wtih a burst paint. I use a bearing route to do that, but I gues that the body contour isn´t complete plain to route.
  16. I know that details Chris, in the next i´ll try a diferente gluing metods keep in mind your comments. Thanks anyway. When paint the burst this marks will disapear with a little dark paint in that point. Still learning ever!
  17. Sanding work begins, this mess of glue no longer existis!! keke
  18. I´ll take a picture of these scary raps after and post here. Think that have enought surface to be a good joint, of course if throw on the floor will broken like any other guitar. This point of build its my favorite, the woods begins to get shape and the guitar reveals yourself.
