  1. Thanks! I got enough for two more one-piece bodies in stock.
  2. Thanks! Glad to hear I improved it instead of making it worse. Equipment used: Ibanez 2075 prestige (stock pickups) ---> Demonizer full tube preamp ---> to the soundcard (some el cheapo) I used Adobe audition to record and mix the whole shebang. Reverbs and EQ too. My friend recorded the bass straight to soundcard. I EQ'd the hell out of it, but it still sounds a bit... weak. It will have vocals in a week or so. The singer has his own style. Not as high pitched as King's but still pretty good. I'll let you know.
  3. Here is an updated version. -Click- Now with bass! I messed around with panning and compression. I think it sounds somewhat better. The drums were the first track in the mix. They were made using a program called Beatcraft (free), using stock samples. Comments, suggestions??
  4. Don't remember reading that in the book... But thanks!
  5. Sorry to be off topic... imgettingcloser, could you please measure how long that neck pocket of yours is? I'm making a PRS style guitar and the neck pocket is basically identical to yours. I'm just concerned that I'd have to make it pass the pickup route. Would this be on the safe side? -Click-
  6. Read the opening post again. Not my song. (I wish) The song will hopefully have some vocals in the near future, as well as bass. EDIT: Well, looks like I have some learning to do. I thought it sounded pretty good through my speakers. Gotta buy some good headphones... Btw, how's the drums? Sound anywhere even remotely decent?
  7. Thanks for the advice! As I said, this is my first so I'm not all that familiar with all this. I'll try panning them guitars around some.
  8. Gather around all of you, who speak their mind... Here it is! My first ever full song recording! -Click- It's a song by 'Mercyful Fate' called 'The banshee'. Bass and vocals are not recorded yet, because some people are being lazy... . I'm looking for opinions about the sound quality, drums, mixing whatever. I know there are some mistakes (mostly rhytmn) in my playing, but thats not the issue here. Thanks!
  9. What kind of disk were you using? People normally use about 60 grit flap disks (me too) and it sure didn't burn the wood at all. Was the disk really worn out or something?
  10. The inlays are bought from DePaule. Didn't cost too much either. I was really thrilled about the 'nicety' of the inlays untill someone noted that they look like... well... weed. Didn't even cross my mind untill that. They're supposed to be japanese maple leafs. Oh well, they should look nice when finished.
  11. That's looking REALLY nice! Inspiring to say the least! What's with all the burn marks?
  12. Progress is pretty minimal. Reason for this is that my teacher assigned me and a few others as a team make about 60 chairs. So no time for my little experiments untill next year. I've been inlaying the FB though. Bought these: Here they are being glued to the board: -Click- The board is still too thick, so the inlays are below the surface. Also, I wasn't too happy about the little-to-no-figure on the birch top so I went ahead and bought this: -Click- Nice figure! I'll be using the birch top to practice carving and plane it off when the time comes. Gives me another chance to route those wiring channels too. This is the flamed limba neck blank from Soundat11: -Click- Desopolis is willing to sell me some wenge for neck laminates and ebony for headstock. The Ibanez is also on hold because of the chair project.
  13. Go to search and type in: "Icefly"
  14. Looks a tad too fat from here (might get heavy in the end). I say slim the waist and reduce the length from the bottom. The horns look nice though. Keep up the spirit!
  15. Wow! Awesome site! I'll be using this one excessively.
  16. Don't want to register. Is there a way around it?
  17. Looking really nice! Those loooong tenon necks are really interesting. I just might attempt one of them in the future. Also, how thick is that top of yours?
  18. Looks like I'm in for a donation then. Or GOTM win.
  19. Great service! I just bought the top one on the fiddleback section (M.F.1729) for my PRS project!
  20. Lion's claw is CNC. There is a tutorial on making a Lion's Claw but I never tried it. May I ask where you got the cad files or whatever it is that people use for the CNC? I'm asking because we got a BIG new CNC machine at school (cost friggin' 140000€!!) and my teacher wants all of us to make something with it for practice. Why not a guitar then, eh?
  21. Draw it out. (I've always wanted to say that ) http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=14036
  22. That binding looks really nice! Good job.
  23. Wow! I totally forgot about that! No bending the binding (wooden) around those horns for me then. Yay!
