  1. I have a DWG file if you want, a little off on the shape, but the bridge/pickups/scale seem to be in place PM me with your email if you want it. P.S. I think you're posting in the wrong section.. Also, the General Discussion will be far more productive as replies go.
  2. Is the neck straight? From the pictures it seems slightly off centered. Looks pretty evil to me.. Dunno if that's a compliment. I think the headstock doesn't go well with the body, but that's just me. Good job!
  3. Those are incredibly hard to find.. You should give this one a try. Stetsbar It is expensive.. but.. It'll fit any standard LP/SG postings.
  4. Very clean and neat Nice! All the color matches! The bridge flame goes nice with the maple top. Is that a double truss rod? How is it accessed from the neck end?
  5. Oh yea.. I PMed you earlier. Forgot to say it here..
  6. I guess if you want you could make the top really thick as much as 1" and perhaps the body 3/4" thick. (as an example) Wouldn't that help "push the edge" to get that bright bright sound?
  7. Interesting.. You have lot of time, right? Then you should.... Read! Melvyn Hiscock - Make Your Own Electric Guitar Martin Koch - Building Electric Guitars There are other ones, but if you're going to buy 1, get the Hiscock book. Noodles of information. Either that... or... study hard, become rich, and hire people to make custom guitars for you. Jk.
  8. Ughhh.. hope we don't go into that one again.... Looo looo la la la
  9. Oii... Oops. My molstake. He said he used lacquer.. so I'm guessing Deft would be a nice guess. Although.. hand rubbing a clear is.. extremely difficult.. at least to me.. You could use retarders to slow down the drying and make it more level, flow.. I know StewMac has one. Sry for keep on posting on your topic mu_sound
  10. ..Lots of dyes/stains are hand rubbed.. of course "hand rubbed" doesnt mean you dip your finger in the stain and spread it.. you use sponge brush, some cotton fabric, or something you can 'brush' with.. Like these things Well deserved for building such a nice (first!) guitar.
  11. I voted "80s Hair" cuz I didn't see any Instrumental/Guitar Virtuoso or Progressive Rock. YEA! RUSH! The options seem to be biased on punk rock. Maybe because you listen to lots of punks?
  12. Wow.. those eggs are hardcore.. Dang, imagine yourself eating one of those.. especially an ostrich egg... Thx for the source! I see some pinks I like! Check out LeeValley They have some good stain colors that go well with the 'natural look' Also, you could do a burst with stains. I think there's a tutorial for that on the main PG.com site. Daaammn nice guitar!! You took 3 hours! For carving? Take a look at this. It should be interesting. He took 3 DAYS!! 3 hours.. and it still looks nice.. Daaaayyuummmm... Good job!
  13. Hi Paul Filth Welcome to the forum! Normally people will come in here and say 'search' And most of time the search will give you the answer. Such is the case for this one. But wth, I have no school tmrw. Yes ToM bridges are at an angle for intonation purposes. (I just went through the post on UltimateGuitar) For neck angle, you could either angle it at the pocket like you said, or you just angle the neck heel. I prefer the latter. Easier. As far as the neck angle goes, there is no 'absolute'. Most LPs are 2-3 degrees and the headstock is 9ish10ish (not sure.. but you can look this up anytime) BTW, you're working on a RR copy? Or you're working on the RR copy and the LP? I see that you tore out some wood using a router.. The next tool you should buy is bandsaw. Just a suggestion. Ciao.
  14. Which brand of stain/dye did you use?? Seems you got the whole rainbow with it!
  15. Sorry For getting your hopes up but that was my insane brother typing what he thought my guitar looked like but its not a rock mirror and no-name pickups. Sorry for the confusion but i will have pics soon.
  16. whaaaahhh.... This topic's still alive???
  17. I LOVE YOUR STRAT!!! It's nice to see an acoustic get built from time to time. So rare Also,
  18. What the.. 15.5? What's that body made of... Basswood?!?! It is pretty thin too.. 1 1/2" I wonder why he said "solid" w/ Quilted Maple Top... Instead of telling us what the body is...
  19. Love those oxymorons. Your arms have to stretch down to your feet to be able to play it HEY! TAKE THAT BACK! NOW! I may be whitewashed, but I know my roots! EXactly! Anyways.. any guess on how much that thing weighs? 20pounds??
  20. Normal people just draw lines as to where they should be sanding up to, both, on the top and on the side. And get a some sort of block with sandpaper on it and sand sand sand or even file.. For tighter spots, just get a narrower piece. Contours like on SG shouldn't be too bad, compared to carved tops.
  21. whoa.. Man.. if I sold my first project I'd be lucky to get $20 Nice job and good luck!
  22. Aw man.. shoulda added a monkey grip.. Adding one just boosts up the price (But only 1 though not 2.. cuz that decreases the value... )
