  1. Here's the complete diner lineup. Don't forget sushi. I like this one. Check out the inlay. I like all this guys work (funny it's called Girlbrand). Check out his selector switch. Every one of his guitars has a different saying (instead of Rhythm/Treble)--like the bug one is "creep/crawl". Check out the basses. Trippy top horn. I must say I like this guys work. Granted it's a copy of a Tele, but it still is cool.
  2. Guitar Trader carried that model a few weeks ago in their store. Here.
  3. I guess technically you could do it with a regular wireless, but youd have to be wired to your pedals, and run the transmitter at the end of the pedals. BUt that's probably not what you are thinking of. As for units...Rocktron made the Patchmate which is like a midi-ized patchbay. You could plug in all or a lot of your pedals and have the midi switch the loop for that particular pedal. They also had a corresponding pedal called the all access that would work off phantom power thru the midi cable. So you'd still have a midi cable, but no power plug in. Digital Music/Voodoo Labs makes a comparable one, but you have to use their pedal. I bought a Rocktron used on ebay and it works well, and also channel switches my Mesa Recto solo and 3 regular channels.
  4. i heard that one too...i don't know how true it is...i heard they didn't want such a stand out bassist...might walk on james' ego It was mentioned in a few interviews with Les, so it's definately true. There are some bootleg versions of Master of Puppets (covered by Primus) out there. It was also mentioned in a few Metallica interviews with James Hetfield regarding Cliff Burton's replacement. I guess Kirk Hammett was buddies with Les so he got the audition that way, but style-wise Les and James didn't click. But Primus actually does a cover of The Thing that Should Not Be. The bassist in Spacehog holds his own too. Their hit "In the Meantime" has a cool bassline and the bassist is also singing while playing. Spacehog is another great band I recommend if you want something a little less Tenacious D and more rock.
  5. -A new computer chair - leather, built in massager -norelco shaver -guitar holders for hanging off my amp -mic boom stand -DVDs: 24 (1st season), Zoolander, Rush Hour 1 & 2, From Dusk til Dawn, CB4, US Marshalls + Three kings (2pk), Ben Stiller show (13 episodes), Mighty Wind, Best In Show -beers of the world -black hooded sweater -nice dress sweater -my girl got gift certificates to PF Changs + other restaurants from my family, so get half that by default . I also bought myself the Stone Brewing Double Bastard 3 liter bottle and the Parker Brothers Ouija game (finally...remember this thread?), parts for the guitars (maple board, Dimebucker, Sperzels, Tele bridge)
  6. Yeah Maynard is great vocalist and Adam Jones is an underated guitarist. Danny Carey is a great drummer too. Tool is just a great band. haha...back to the real topic...well being that I only have used my hands, a bandsaw, drill press, mill, and my dremel-esque RTX, I'd have to say the mill was rather cool to use because you could move precise distances. I am a bit of a clutz and super impatient, so doing things by hand (or RTX) usually got f'd up. But I have more fun with electronics so maybe my soldering gun...or my screwdrivers cuz I always liked piecing it together at the end to make the finished product.
  7. The mosrite orange-purple red guitar is sweet. So what are the colors again--yellow green blue? I might join up if I dig the colors.
  8. eh...theoretically you could do it but it would almost be easier to build a neck. The problem would be getting the scarf joint created behind the fingerboard area. Plus now you'd have to buy lefty tuners cuz the post must pull towards the gear--not away from. I'd sell the squire neck and buy a paddlehead aftermarket neck, and make your own.
  9. I thought this looked a little weird and interesting and then I read the description...very sad. Here.
  10. I think Conklin uses Bartonloni pickups, and I believe they do custom 8string models too. But I think Duncan might be cheaper tho.
  11. doh! This one was a tough choice. I was the third person to vote and the other two votes were for the other guitars that I really liked. Damn this'll be a tough one.
  12. winning bid...$25,000,100.00 I wonder what kind of fee are associated with that.
  13. I'm not a fan of the odd-shaped Jackson, but I appreciated the slight differences (headstock/inlays) and the Ghost flames. The standard King V looks too metal.
  14. Of forgot to add that you have to purchase it in December.
  15. Oh I totally forgot about this until just right now... Guitar Center is selling the Whammy pedal for $199 (yeah so what no big deal) but I guess they give you a voucher for Digitech, and Digitech sends you out one of their X-series pedals for free (at least that's what the GC mailer says). I'm opting for the synth wah pedal. Thought some of your might want to know.
  16. Here. Out of my price range, but very nice.
  17. Check this out. Is this for real, or someone screwing around with the bids to get them out of it? I swear, some of you guys are up to par with the Fender custom shop. That's why I think "custom shop Fenders" that are just fancy wood and custom colors shouldn't be worth more than $2000. But that's my opinion. Custom is the freakin carved detailed Disneyland motif, Ernie Isley (hand carved roses over quilt top) or StarTrek one that I'm look at on my Custom shop calendar. But this...this ain't that custom. The only thing custom I see is the left hand Fender Am. Std. Trem. Everything else could be done or purchased with ease by the skilled people on this forum.
  18. Oooh...even better $79 starting bid here. It's fixer upper tho.
  19. Look what I found on ebay...the red version looks cooler than the black one. here. Too bad some one already bought it. Doh...found another one.
  20. I've got an orange Weller. It has a light to tell me it's on. What a nice little solder gun (the insanity of my flu symptoms must be returning ). I think the pen ones are easier to use because you can have a point on the end. Hey maybe you guys could help me here (not meaning to digress) I have to replace the solder tips after 3-4 uses because it no longer heats thru it. I can leave it on for 30 min and it will only make one tiny spot that will melt the solder. The solder I use has flux in it...could this be the reason?
