  1. click here Try this site it has a lot of info on electronics.
  2. Quite surprised to see a tie. Somebody out there does not have their priorities straight. Women you can't live with them and you can't live without them. I never once have said that about a guitar. I am sooo glad my wife doesn't read these forums.
  3. Can you give us a pic of the wood? Got my interest. If it repels bugs and you don't want to use it I have a couple of kids er...bugs I could get rid of.
  4. www

    Skill level

Some body should send me tools, so I can move up to skilled.
  5. Derek, you're right. It will depend on the amount of thickness in the center of the fret board. It will defintely effect the action.
  6. Should be enough material I would think. Going the other way would be more problematic. Basically you're just flattening the fret board. Hey, but what do I know. I'm still learning. Maybe someone with more experience will know otherwise.
  7. melaleuca wood? click here Hope this helps, but alas nothing about use in instruments. Good luck.
  8. I'm in, but ineed to find a kiln to dry some maple I'm cutting today. I will build a bass. No ideas yet.
  9. [Just curious. Will that bass be Carriburst? ] Don't know yet. Depends if I find a nice peice of wood. I am going to look at some tomorrow, but it wont be dry for awhile unless I can find a kiln. I will be cutting up some beatiful wood. We found a lot of 4-5A maple. Just hope it hasn't been down to long.
  10. [Very noble of you WWW. That is just too cool of you.] My fat fingers would never seen past the 24th fret anyway. Now I can start work on a bass.
  11. This was a perfect match for Vwall, so it is now his! Keep in touch and let me know how it turns out Scott.
  12. It looks exactly like the VWall! I guess I'll have to spend sometime looking them up. I don't know what i'm going do for a finish. So many ideas so little brain left to sort them out. It needs to be refinished. Lots of divots in the body. I will be getting a bunch of figured and spalted maple tomorrow. I found a stash that has been down for a few years. So I will be putting this one on hold until all the maple is cut and stacked for the future.
  13. I don't know the history of the neck or body. A friend gave it to me. Knowing my friend the parts probably did come from the eighties. I wasn't to worried about the stain on the maple fret board, I figured it would come out during sanding the radius.
  14. Hope to start this soon. I was going to sell the parts, but now I've decided to make it work. Haven't figured out what the finish will be yet.
  15. Thanks for the comments. I would like to enter next monthls contest, but how?
  16. I like lots of switches and knobs. I like it.
  17. The switch is a series/parallel switch. It allows combinations to have all the pickups working in series or parallel. Similar to the G&L S-500. The cloth came from a quilter. http://www.piecefulquilter.com' target='_blank'>. When putting the finish on (polyurethane) it turned the white on the cloth yellow and with the overspray from the burst it made it green. I will post more pics soon. I am trying to make them smaller for easier down and uploads. Thanks Wes.
