couple of shots of the neck shaping: it's done about the shape, I put asymmetrical shape on this one. I did it little by little, until I feel comfortable when I put my hand on it. the thickness at 1st fret is 20mm and 22mm at 12th. but it doesn't feel too chunky, maybe because it's a very wide neck

move on to the neck actually I forgot where did I put the rest of the pics of this build, so here's what I found: neck blank with truss rod channel and with truss rod installed after that, I glued the ebony fboard. rubber band instead of clamps? I got exactly same question, but the man who supervised my work said it's ok, so I just follow him. after I removed that rubber, it looks ok

it's time to spread some glue and I call this camp of clamps about the chambers, nothing special about them. I made them just to reduce some weight. will it affect the tone? honestly, I don't care too much about it, because my main goal for this build is just to build a guitar that is playable

I'm back after the drawing, I cut a template out of plastic board then I made the body (mahogany) and maple top here they are

well, it all started with this an old drawing of mine, about 4 years ago. when I designed this, I wanted a guitar that will feel comfortable to my body when I'm playing it, standing or sitting. (after lurking around here, I found out it looks similar to Ola's design ) but it's ok, I think. he's a better builder, anyway then became these since I have no woodworking experience at all, I decided to go to one of the best luthier here in Indonesia. I asked him if he would teach me how to build a guitar in a proper way. he said he could, then he asked me to re-draw my design in 1:1 scale. I didn't know it could be so hard to draw a full scale, it was pita, but I did it well . so, here's my full scale drawing yes, it's a multi-scale guitar, 24.75"-27" 3pcs mahogany body 2pcs maple top 5pcs mahogany-maple-mahogany-maple-mahogany neck, AANJ joint 24 frets ebony fboard so, enjoy guys! ps. this build is almost finished, I just didn't have enough guts to put it here until now and sorry for my not so good english, it's not my mother tongue, though. and in case u guys are wondering about my name "Ricky Anderson", I got it from my grandma. she is a half swedish (that's what I believe).

Look at my guitar... I painted it using same paint like IWishIcouldShred... Instant in cans... Actually it's not that good, but it's the cheapest way to achieve crackle finish.

And look at novax guitar, they called it fanned frets, but I believe it's multiscale...

@ Dino: It's strange that you don't know that kind of multiscale fretboard, since you live in the US, and you're a guitar builder

Hi Arjan, thanks for your answer... Btw, look at this picture... Your headstock design looked similar to mine (I made this design 2 years ago), but mine is less sharp. If you didn't cut out your headstock yet, I'd be glad if you put my design on your guitar, since I haven't build any guitar yet, so I think it's better if somebody else use this design. Hi Perry, what do you think? It's a Doubleneck Balawan Series by Stephallen Guitar. The guitar builder told me that he can't build fanned frets guitar anymore because it's copyrighted to Novax Guitar... Is it true? I mean, is it right that nobody can't build a guitar with fanned frets because of this restriction? I ask this question because I saw that you built a guitar with fanned frets... Here's another pic Thanks in advance...

hope this one looks better Bassically, it's just a squier strat... I didn't use any borax, because it's illegal here in my country, they don't let us to buy borax personally, I just put some amount of paint (red and black, I used latex paint here, because it's cheap) into a big bucket full of water, let the colours spread, then I swirled it using a piece of wood, then I dipped in my guitar (yellow colour) into the water, blow the water so there was a "hole", then I pulled out the guitar, let it dry for several hours, and finally put some layer of clear coat over it. It's very simple, buy I get the right colour after trial and error (I did 8 times of experiment using the same guitar with different basic colours).

Hi there, I'm Ricky from Indonesia. I have a plan to build some guitars for myself, and I think CNC will be good enough. My questions are: 1. Is there any downside of using CNC, and will the result better than handmade? 2. What kind of CNC machine should I use and where to buy? I live in Jakarta, Indonesia (a very beautiful country ), and I think it's hard to find CNC here, can I buy it from ACE hardware? Thank you, guys
