thanks very much for the info...I suspected as much, but have been unable to locate another Gunslinger locally to look at.

I picked up a BC rich Gunslinger body and neck from Ebay, and the neck has a shelf routed for a locking nut, but no holes drilled in the neck to mount said nut. I checked out several pictures on the web, and saw that several models of the Gunslinger have the locking nut, but no drill holes. Anyone have any ideas on how the nut is supposed to mount on the neck without drilling the screw holes? Sorry....the subject is supposed to be NECK....I should not drink so early in the morning!

from what I understand, Swamp Ash is wood from the bottom of the ash tree that has been submerged under water...

Thanks for the input. I'm leaning toward the Wilkenson, but I'm giving the Floyd Rose a second look. I also want to take the opportunity to thank everyone on the forum and those who authored tutorials on the Project Guitar page. I never would have started any of my projects had it not been for your guidance and advice...thanks!

I'm in the process of building a strat type guitar and I can't decide which tremelo bridge to use. I know the obvious differences in the vintage type bridge and the Wilkenson type, but are there any advantages in one over the other?
