  1. Yeah you were right.. I should let it the way it was... now i will have to sand it a little bit, but it´s hard to say right now. I must wait till tomorrow to see it on nice sun light And let it cross my mind
  2. Finally I have something for you Today I´ve been to our local store and bought blue stain, so when I came home I stained the body immediatelly Hope you like it.. it´s too bright for me now.. tomorrow or tonight I will stain it once again and we´ll see how it turns out...
  3. I used a alcohol based dye from local store.. No stewmac or other luthiers stuff... I´ve got limited resources. I don´t know if I could find black epoxy in our store too... I´m going to take a look in there next week. I´m looking for some waterbased grainfiller, blue stain or transparent color in spray and black opaque spray for burst. Wish me luck
  4. Thanks... I don´t think it will get any worse, because the ash top is not very thick, so the basswood should handle it... this crack isn´t wide at all -> I can´t even put a needle in it, but it´s sucking the dye and that´s making it visible...
  5. So this is the Day I´ve started finishing my baby Sanded everything to 240 grit an dyed the top,... Another shot ...but when I did it, something bad happened. There appeared a crack on the top on the left half of body hope it wont be that obvious when finished...
  6. Ok, let´s see yesterday photo update And today little progress: Dyed pickup and electronics cavities and tested black dye on the upper horn... I´m satisfied with the result Detail of upper horn
  7. Thanks for all your replies. Today I want to slightly sand the neck and finish it with another coat of nitro. Also I want to sand the body, maybe even stain it with some black dye to raise up the grain of ash top... I´ll try to post some pics later EDIT: Finally shaped the AANJ-ish neck joint, sanded sides of body. Unexpected malfunction of my router caused a big trouble with completing electronics cavity, so I have to look for some router now... Also I have some problems with uploading photos , so you have to wait to see the progress
  8. Thak you vey much. Now I got the second coat on and the neck looks even more beautiful
  9. After two months of illness I´ve finally got som work done. Past few days I´ve been sanding, sanding and sanding, and today started to finish the neck. I´m using nitrocelulose lacquer again. Sanded and fretboard masked I like how the subtle flaming popped out BTW: I´m using a brush, not spraying the lacquer... I like this way on necks. I´m going to spray the body
  10. I´m building now this kind shaped guitar, but I don´t have that beautiful maple top I have just nice ash and I will finish it with nitro blueburst
  11. I don´t know.. killswitch? Won´t you shut the signal down accidently when you will play a little more... wild.. huh?
  12. Hi, Very nice and clean work you´ve got there. If I were you, I would route the el.cavity a little bit more, then glue in a piece of wood, then re-route the trem cavity again just for an eye. What do others think? And don´t you think the pot hole is too close to trem cavity? Otherwise I like this guitar and I´d like to build some like this
  13. Lookin´ really great!! I´m a fan of natural strats, and that glued neck is also my favourite option... Post some progress protos
  14. Definitely... with new hardware it wouldn´t look that sweet
  15. WOW!! that is a very nice guitar... I´m building musicman-ish copy right now and the first picture put a bug into my head... I mean carving the top.. we´ll see
  16. Wow! That is a nice looking project.. Looking forward to see some progress. Good luck with it
  17. Hello all I want to glue in the neck... is it possible if the neck is flatsawn? Original plan was to make a bolt-on joint, but I thouhgt it will improve sustain and tone when it will be glue-in. All necks that that i saw were glued-in are quartersawn..
  18. If I was you, I would pick No. 3. You will route the pickup routes, neck joint and the bridge there... the stripe won´t be visible too much I think..
  19. Have you also finished the fingerboard with tru oil?
  20. Today update... routed the neck pocket and adapted the neck heel Another shot Full shot without neck I will contour the back of the body much more this is still too rough Full shot of back of the joint
  21. Hello again.. after some time I got the body cut out at home.. What do you think? I want to stain it blue, maybe some natural binding and opaque black back. Clearcoat with nitrocelulose lacquer. All input welcomed...
  22. Today finally picked up wood for body. It is basswood back with ash top. Make you own opinion, but I think I´ve picked a good one
  23. You don´t use a respirator? If not, you really should. Neck looks pretty good...
  24. What the hell is that? Interesting design btw, but it needs a lot of work to do...
  25. Looking very good so far.. very nice and clean work
