  1. yes, but the grain will raise with the primer if you don't do a sealer.
  2. you really don't have to add any- moving the strap button towards the neck will help loads.
  3. man, all your stuff is awesome! i've always loved the roswells. i agree with you, i'm sticking to neck thrus, much easier!
  4. i mean mahogany should balance zebrawood out. and yes, it'll sound just fine.
  5. mahogany should balance it out. and you can always move the strap button around a little to get it right.
  6. it's really just a two tone burst in light and dark brown, as far as i can tell.
  7. yeah, but most people that gig know to wrap your cable around your strap to keep from yanking it out.
  8. i love the fretboard! and whatever the top is (canarywood?) is a really different color- very cool. i really hope you're leaving it natural.
  9. the sustain from doing something like that would be simply insane. i'd do it in a minute if i could find a piece of wood big enough. it's definitely possible, though.
  10. looks great. i agree, the bridge pickup is a tad close to the bridge, but hey, it's your guitar.
  11. i got a 1x3 of maple enough for two thru-necks with a great flame for $13. there are good deals out there, if you scavenge enough.
  12. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Dea...ngs-?sku=101073 but the fact that you can do away with tuning machines makes it cheaper.
  13. great necks, but you can find them for less elsewhere.
  14. good job! looks nice and clean, wish i could do that good of a job.
  15. Trans cherry i'm jealous. and yeah, the fret access looks crazy. kinda like the one i'm building.
  16. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/d/dono...e_witch_tab.htm never heard the song, so i'm not sure if it's right or not.
  17. i'm loving the JS. what color is it gonna end up?
  18. as far as i know, you could cover it with any pickup specific cover; they shouldn't affect the magnetic field at all.
  19. i have a palm router, and it has enough power to do thinner bodies (which i prefer anyways, anything under 1 1/2 inches.) i wouldn't try any thicker, though, which can be a hinderance. acutally, i did manage to cut a 2" slab of basswood, but that hardly counts.
  20. if steve vai had a bass... anyways, looks nice.
  21. i love it. the mahogany thing on top is really unique. i wouldn't call it seussical, but you mangaged to pull it all together well.
  22. some sort of oil- i prefer tung.
  23. personally, i love poplar. my local wood store has 8"x1" boards that work perfectly with a top. it sounds good, and if you get to pick what you're working with, you can get pieces without the green streaks as well. i picked some up today for one of the laminates in the neck i'm building. the best part about basswood is how easy it is to work with.
