  1. Check out the third negative feedback at the bottom of the page. Is he calling himself "Robin Hood?" Does that mean he admits that he's stealing?
  2. Guitarbuild.com has the plans. If you click the link above you can download them.
  3. From now on, to avoid being sued, you have to put the ® after Fender®. [ALT]+0174
  4. I am not sure when (and if) the strat and tele bodies were trademarked. If the "copycat" people started making the guitars before the trademark was applied for, or if Fender® doesn't defend the trademark, then Fender® loses trademark rights. Kinda like a patent.
  5. I have a 70s Epiphone that had a tuner rattle. I just bent the worm gear retainer until it was tight. Doesn't rattle anymore.
  6. My grandfather has an old Framus classical. It has flame maple back and sides. It is the only classical guitar I've played that I didn't hate.
  7. If you want a decent used guitar, check out midwest buy and sell. It's like a pawnshop that specialzes in guitars and amps. Lots of used stuff (as well as "vintage") and so many marshall amps it is difficult to navigate the store.
  8. It lowers the tension. According to the Van Halen Store you have to "stabilize" the tremolo first.
  9. I haven't used a ball-peen hammer for fretwork, but I think that it would be challenging to use the ball end to hammer in frets.
  10. Which one is your favorite? Like in Pulp Fiction you can like more than one, but, "No one likes them equally." Inspired by this thread
  11. In the tutorial section of the site there are tutorials on building guitars. (funny how that works isn't it?) You should read the Melvyn Hiscock book "Make Your Own Electric Guitar"
  12. Do you have to turn both screws to lock/unlock? I think the joke went like this: Does he float? (referring to whammy) Like Richard Simmons in a Bow-flex ad
  13. If you can recognize my avatar, speak up. I can tell what it is. Maybe just because I already know.
  14. @Kevan: With the tremol-no can you choose to lock just up bending (no dive bombing), just divebombing (no up bending), or both at the same time (no movement)? Or is it just all the way locked (no movent) or all the way unlocked (movement in both directions)? By the way, I wasn't offended by your Richard Simmons joke. I just don't type LOL.
  15. Iron Man--Black Sabbath Suicyco Mania--Suicidal Tendencies I Am a Viking--Yngwie J. Malmsteen Operation: Mindcrime--Queensrÿche
  16. Lots of people like bigsby trems. I don't. I have one on a 335 copy. It's ok for wailing feedback controlling, unless you want to play in tune afterwwards. Not much pitch change. It might work better if you use a roller bridge and nut.
  17. I was looking at the low end kirk hammet sig. ESP (KH 202 i believe) I'm wondering though, are the Floyd Rose® copies ESP uses any good? I don't want to strip out all the screws on the initial setup and end up buying a new bridge because I cant find replacements.
  18. Can you still buy Kahler trems? I've actually been thinking about putting a locking trem on a gibson for about 6 months now. I thought it would be easier to install a Kahler, but I haven't seen any for sale.
