Thinnest fret wire

Anybody know where you can get the thinnest fret wire and how thin it is?

well, stewmac do thin wire, as do craft supplies (uk) i think warmoth may...

not sure on size, if you need links just ask and ill look!

Thanks Ill have a look, not sure if theyll be as thin as I want though. Regular thin is about 2mm normaly but I need much thinner.

you can get steel wire, or mandolin wire, and thats very thin.

I dont have any links, but mimf's link page would probley have it in thier mandolin section.

i've seen some guitars that don't have a crown on the fretwire, it's just a strip of metal the same width as the fret slot.. that is probably the thinnest you'll find, although i'm not sure about sources for that or the exact measurement,

If you're talking about " bar frets" , they are actually quite a bit wider than a fret-slot around .022" wide. They are around .050" wide. Martin guitar company sells it, but it's no fun to install.

Also, what height do you want ?

Whatever preferably medium. Theres no rush its just a bit of resourceing I gotta do for something thats coming up in about a year.

stewmac probably has a size that'll do, if medium height is ok. I guess they have a mandolin wire that would do.
