silvertonessuckbutigotone Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 I have some pots from my EMG's left over, and I was wondering if it would be possible to use them on passive pickups? any advice or answers would be appreciated Quote
lovekraft Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 If they're standard EMG pots, they'll have too low an impedance to play well with passive pickups, and you'll lose a lot of highs, and a lot of level. I'd strongly advise against it. Quote
MikeB Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 i did this because i had no pots, which i remedied, it sounded totally crap! dont use these, no volume at all! Quote
Stalefish Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 If I'm not wrong, those pots'll have a very different (can't remember if it's low or hi) resistance value.. It'll muck with your sound quite a bit so I'll add a third vote to "Don't do it".. Quote
ansil Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 they are 10k onaverage sometimes up to 50k Quote
