Futuro-custom
Two questions (they might be stupid but im new to guitar making) 1. I plan on buying a maple neck-thru-body neck and putting alder on the sides of it. Is this a good or bad combination? What are the pros and cons of it? 2. With a neck thru and alder wings, is it possible to rout for a floyd rose trem? Thank you
Alchool
I think there's no problem with the floyd rose routing. Let more experienced people answer to the first question...
vh-guitarstore.com
its a great combination...maple and alder are THE tones of rock...i cant think of any cons...youll be able to rout anything you wish on it.....go for it
westhemann
yeah i agree with vh.check out this axe.maple and alder are great for just about anything, and choice of body wood has nothing to do with the type of bridge you put on it.no cons.some people will tell you about how if the neck breaks you're screwed but just put a volute at the headstock and everything will be o.k.
