mdw3332
On a recent trip to Oregon, I bought 6 ft of nicely figured 4/4 cherry that is 13 1/2" wide. Has anybody used this for a body? I have some very nice flamed maple that is about 1/16" thick that I thought about using for a top. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks.
www
I've seen others use cherry for guitars. I think it would be a good mix with a maple top. Scroll down and read about Cherry
mdw3332
www, could you re-send that link? When I open it, it goes to Microsoft's home page. Now I know that MS has a lot of different products, but I don't think they're selling wood. Thanks,

mdw3332
feylya - Thanks. MzI - It actually is 5/4 although I have seen some guitars that are as thin as 1 1/2". I don't see that being a big problem - pup routs are usually only an inch deep and there's plenty of wood for a neck rout.

Dr. Jabsco
Yes, cherry is *very* bright. My uncle has a cherry dobro that he let me barrow for a while, and even for a dobro its very bright. Its beutiful tho!
