Ebonizing Rosewood

I haven't tried it with rosewood but I have used that stewmac dye for ebony boards which were a bit brown. I do it as the last step (after inlay and radiusing/levelling). The dye does not adhere to MOP inlay - I can't say if it will on plastic but I doubt it. It would be easy to test though.

I've used the vinger and steel wool in a jar idea (let it sit for a few weeks or longer), and it stained the wood nicely. I just wiped it on and buffed it with a clean rag. The plastic inlay was not harmed at all. B)

I made a big jar to last along time and my dear wife tossed it. :D
