Simo Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Is there a serial number on the neckplate? Quote
bluespresence Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Looks like the EX350 to me.......matches the description in Blue Book to a tee also. Says it was discontinued in '94 and is worth about what you paid in its repaired state. EDIT: Oops! I re-read your post I see you haven't bought it yet but are still deciding. If it has a reverse headstock then it's the EX365. The body sure looks in great shape for 10 years old!! Nice grab. Make yourself a new neck and you're good to go..... Quote
Simo Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 yep I think bluespresence is spot on.... http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1991/ex.jpg Nice axe Quote
samoht Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 oh EX170!! i got one when i was a kid! it was just like the one in the link. even the same color. Quote
Nouseforone Posted November 2, 2004 Author Report Posted November 2, 2004 (edited) so what you guys think go for the cheaper ex with bad neck or the good rg for 100?hmmmm...need this for a shredder ax edit: im leaning toward the rg...because it is only 20 more anyway plus the ex ill need a new neck...ill just buy new pickups for the rg Edited November 2, 2004 by Nouseforone Quote
bluespresence Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 I'd say go with the one that makes you happy. They both seem like a decent deal at those prices............ Quote
mushy the shroom Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 I, personally would go for the EX. The neck problem looks kinda bad, but nothing good wood putty and a bit of lacquer can't fix. Is Music Go Round a national chain? Because I have one in my town. I really dislike it, actually. Lots of knockoff models at pretty crummy prices, and don't even think about selling through them. They sell for twice the price that they bought... I've heard of making a profit, but this is just sad. Quote
Curtis P Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 The neck problem looks kinda bad, but nothing good wood putty and a bit of lacquer can't fix. uhhh, NO That is what i call a half-assed fix, in my opinon, it will put to much pressure on that spot there and you will eventually just warp the neck, so if he can even get the EX for 75 or 70 bucks then for about 15 or 20 bucks of wood and making the neck, then hes set Curtis Quote
mushy the shroom Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Yeah, very half-assed, but depending on how you want the guitar to turn out, it may work. A real solution would be to buy or make a neck (as Curtis proposed), but it may not be practical. Quote
westhemann Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 i would get the rg...it is a working guitar and you can upgrade the pups and get a good sounding, decent playing guitar out of it Quote

If you're talking about the 2 bolts/screws through the neck they are supposed to be there...........It looks goofy when you first see one. Quote
