MikeB
hey guys, i thought id put a few pics up, see what you think. spec: 25 medium frets mightymite motherbuckers (that kick ass, and are amongst the quietest humbuckers - perhaps due to my massive amount of shielding) JSB surface mount bridge. 1V 2T, tone bypass switch brass nut flamed maple fretboard, maple neck. figured ash body - green dye, and burst to black. finished with poly. 3 way pup selector. GOTOH truss rod. copper clad board for electronics cavity. (this really improved the noise figures) smaller heel joint, sloped. deep bevels along side. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/realmofspeed/V.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/rea...Vfrontdusty.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/rea...ed/3guitars.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/rea.../Vneckfront.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/rea...speed/Vneck.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/rea...teandbridge.jpg this was a real learning experience, as this time i built this alone. i learnt a great deal. nothing like doing. i believe i sent Rick_here a pm with how i dyed this beast. i still have it in my send PM's, so i will do a dying tutorial, for ash specifically. i left the grain showing throught the laquer for a really cool effect, apparently the Goth series that gibson do this, im not sure. i could have easily filled the grain, and was approaching that stage, but this is waay cooler! here is the root dir of some of my RR pics. fullserve hasnt been great to me recebtly, so i switched to photobucket. some of these pics will not work, unf. http://www.fullservesite.com/mikeb/rr/ well, ill cya around! MikeB
wow, thanks for the kind words! i have been following your work, and thought you would like it! your stuff it really well done! this one isnt for sale, i have become really attached to it, and many ppl have asked me to sell it!! hehe! i especially like the deeper edges. the body is almost 2" thick! its pretty light tho! i did the edges with a belt sander, and they are pretty parallel, and straight, i was impressed, belt sanders can have a detrimental effect on the product if utmost care is not bestowed upon them!!
