Gorecki
Naw, I like it. The only flaws I could see (that's our job ya know, to point out flaws) is you should have grain filled the ash on the body and it wouldn't appear so rough under the clear coat. And...replace that control cover! No need to make your hardwork look poorly because of a couple of bucks worth of plastic. Otherwise great first effort! Maiden69
OK, I think that for a 1st project is kinda decent, and it's obious that you put a lot of effort and money into making it. But you skipped a lot on the finishing, the ash could look good without filler, but the stain looks horrible and blotchy, there is a notch on the bottom of the neck right close to were the heel begins that you could have massaged to make it almost invisible, and the neck ferrules need some work, and you can clearly see sanding marks on the top... I think that with a little more attention to detail that bass can look 100% better, don't rush to a job, take your time and look at it closely, if you think that you can make it look better, do it! cold95
thanks guys for the imput. ill keep all of that in mind for my next project. in the second pic the marks you see on the top is actually from the pick hitting the top when playing. i thought about grain filler, but as i said i modeled it after a wal and some times they just do two cost of hard acrylic, leaving the grain showing and giving it a more natural feel. so that why i tried it. im defently not gunna try and stain it like i did, again. on the back of the neck there was a nick and i put some filler in it, and i was hoping it wouldnt show so much, but it does. i have a question. how do you guys finish your necks? with lacquers, what? i lacquered mine but if feel kinda sticky i guess you would say. thanks again guys, Jay

It's very possible your neck as the body will still take some time to cure.
