haggardguy
Hello fellow project guitar forum members, this is my first post here but I,unlike soem newbies have spent a fair amount of time reading other tutorials, articles and questions to avoid me asking some obvious ones. Anyways my plan is to convert an old beatdown 1980's washburn superstrat(s/s/h with no routes from a previously installed washburn wonderbar unit, set neck,22 fret rosewood fretboard, grover tuners, pics to come when i have a couple minutes). I plan to strip the current black finish and paint it green with black tiger stripes. Hardware -black pickguard -green pickup covers -green knobs and switch tip -dimarzio evolution/paf/fred in the bridge (im still undecided) -hopefully a recessed floyd rose(if there is enough wood to route everything out)if not I will use a strat style hardtail bridge in black) -im also planning to shield the pickup cavities and control cavity and do the bridge/neck mod for using the bridge and neck pickup at the same time (btw the 2 single coils will be the 2 stock washburn pickups that are in it until I have more money,im only 15 and dont have a job...yet) Any feedback, ideas and comments are appreciated, this is my first project and the guitar was cheap so this is also kind of experimental. As soon as I get a photobucket account or something I will post my computer generated plan and pictures of the guitar in its current state. crafty
Hey, save that Wonderbar! If it's still in decent shape, put it up on eBay if you don't want it anymore. Those were nice units!
haggardguy
I didnt get the wonderbar when I purchased the guitar,it was a body, neck tuners, and pickguard with 2 single coil pickups. Trust me If I had the wonderbar It would be on that guitar right now . In other news I,with some help from my father sanded the guitar down today. I masked off the neck(its a set neck remember) and cavities and am preparing to start painting it on sunday. Tomorrow I am planning to fll in holes etc and prime it. Pictures come sunday night or monday, whenever I get around to it.

Daniel Sorbera
what is the use of a kill switch?
haggardguy
The kill switch will be for tom morello style stuff and because i just like the ability to turn my guitar off. Also the floyd has now officially changed to strat style hardtail due to lack of thickness and deep pickup routes. If anyone is interested in buying a cheap lisc. floyd in black,pm me,if anyone has a fair priced black hardtail they would like to sell me,pm me. Thats all folks. eddiefletcher
I really like that haggard. Only suggestion is to paint the headstock flouro green with the same stripes! That would look the biz!
