Before you slag of the warpig try one :D GFS pickups are ok. But me and a friend did a blind install and trial (ie he installed em i tried em) with three different humbuckers (a dimarzio, a bare knuckle and a gfs) all with black plastic covers over them. The gfs came off the worst shall we say. Not bad for the money, but imo not a match for the big guns.

As for gibson pickups, overpriced rubbish imo B)

As with all pickups best bet is to try em out. Dimarzio and SD tend to have a return it if you dont like it policy, so they are probably good to go with. Start with the usual pickups (yer JB's and what not) and go on to other things depending on where you want your sound to go. The websites tend to be pretty good at describing what they sound like. And the SD tonw wizard will probably give you some ideas.

personally i never liked the sound (warpig) for 'heavy rock' the most impressive part is when somone puts some effects over it http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/download.php?id=528

personally i dont listen to that sort of rock music so my view on 'heavy' is a bit different i lean more towards the classic rock style

The Bill Lawrence L-500-XL is the pickup the Dimebucker is modeled after. It was Dime's main pickup pretty much forever.

It is a monster pickup for about 1/2 the price of a Dimebucker.
