Thoughtless 7
Does anyone know where i can get a program where i can turn my drum music into drum tab? I have tried using MusEdit, but i can't save the files. I only want to use it for one song so i can't see the point of spending $80 for it. Any programs or websites out there that will do it for free? Cheers
Primal
...if you can read drum tab, you should easily be able to read drum music.
Nitefly SA
That's what I was thinking, aren't they pretty much the same thing?
spazzyone
Guitar pro 3.4 or 5 i think acoustic's betcraft also does that which is not a bad program either
echoes
drum music is sheet music, way different than tab
erikbojerik
Drum tab?!?! How's that work, a different number for each hand/foot? The big difference (at least for guitar tab) is that there's no rhythm implied in tab, which IMO would make it a pretty poor choice for drum. But what do I know...good drummers have multiple brains, and I have only one.

Primal
All you have to do is learn how to read rhythm and know what notes correspond to what drum (i.e. no actual need to learn notes). Drum tab really only makes it easy to post drum parts on the internet. Its only positive aspect is that you don't have to have music writing software to read or write it. Seriously, learn to read the music, it will be better in the long run.
custom22
I have been a drummer for some time, and its generally the same. You dont really need that much knowledge of notes to begin. Music is more specific for those who read it, but the average drummer does not follow music very closely, except for percussion and such.
