NJD Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Its amazing how many times this item gets mentioned here too!! Probably because it appears to be the ultimate quick fix. I'd like one for duplicating carved tops IF i had call to make and remake the same shape guitar over and over again, but after looking in to it - for one offs here and there i'd rather use the space it takes up with other things. rhoads56 Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Ive got a MUCH better duplicarver than that one, in fact, i believe its the best ive seen ANYWHERE. This baby has been finished for nearly 18 months now, and yet i still have not yet used it... Quote
NJD Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 I asked David Myka about his, and looked into MIMF plans a few years ago - before i knew about PG and seriously conidered making one just so i could carve a top from pine and then transpose it onto a figured top. then i felt i may end up robbing myself of the satisfaction of making THAT guitar how THAT guitar almost 'wants' to be. we shall see if that phylosophy pays off soon enough Quote
biliousfrog Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 it certainly has some appeal when looking at it like NJD. I'm sure that most people would rather take some design risks with a piece of pine rather than some AAA exotic. Quote
egdeltar Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 You can make that thing for half as much as he is selling it for... Quote
