Coverdale
Hey guys! My bass player just pickep up a Washburn P2 for me. It has nitro finish, and the previous owner put a sticker on it. Can I use alcohol or something to remove it? I don't know if alcohol damages nitro... Help me out here please. Thanks

Dan.
now, will that also get rid of the nasty residue if the sticker has been scrapped off?
marksound
Yes. Naphtha melts sticker glue.
GuitarGuy
Yes. Naphtha melts sticker glue. Goo gone would be my first choice but naptha works too.
Coverdale
Well, didn't need to use naphta. Pulled the sticker, it came out almost completely, what was left came out with a damp cloth. Thanks for tips anyways, guys!
deadmike
tip for anybody else. if you want to get a sticker off try baby oil. rub it in with your fingers, after 30 seconds the sticker *should* just start to come away in your fingers. sepultura999
Another way to get sticker residue off is using peanut butter. I hate it when the stickers don't come off books I just purchased. Peel the sticker, put some peanut butter on the residue, wait a few hours, take a knife scrape off the majority of it, then a slightly damp cloth and rub away. Works every time.
