renablistic Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 http://guitarpartsdepot.com/Merchant2/merc...e=miscgtrbparts on that site there they sell bass string retainers ala fender p basses. these are MUCH wider than other regular strap buttons, so if you used one of these, wouldn't it get rid of the need of a strap lock? just an idea... bowser Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 i like the dimarzio clip locks, they don't use the buttons. you just take out the buttons and screw the strap on. Quote
ryeisnotcool2 Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 i guess they would work? kinda like PRS strap buttons, i prefer strp locks though, escpecially when jumpin around on stage! Quote
renablistic Posted December 16, 2003 Author Report Posted December 16, 2003 i was just an idea, but i like to be able to take off my strap without buttons and crap.... Quote
Bingo328 Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't the hole on the strap either need to be lengthened or just wear bigger, which would cause the same problem as before. If you don't want the matal part on your strap look for a "surelock" strap. They have a plastic end where your button goes through and then it has a little seatbelt type snap that locks it on. I've had one for about 5 years and they work great. Quote
westhemann Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 the dunlop strap is really a great design.all you do is push a button whith your thumb and it slides right out.the piece with the button stays with the strap Quote
