goth_fiend Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 well guys the time has finally come, i just got the body for a kerry king wartribe im going to be building, but the body needs a hell of a lot of work. the pickup slots are not the right size and the previous owner tried to route it out for a kahler but it is way to small, so heres the question, should i just block off all of the parts and reroute the whole guitar? Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Pics would help to determine that answer. Quote
goth_fiend Posted December 16, 2003 Author Report Posted December 16, 2003 dont have access to a webcam, digi or anything else right now sorry man, if i did i would post pics, plus its still got remains of its hot pink paint job EWWWWW!!!!!! Quote
fidgec94 Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Is the bridge routing neat or was it just hacked at? If the routings are all neat, then it may not be too difficult to adjust size and tidy up. Then again if its abit messy, i'd be tempted to block and re-rout. That way you be really **** and make eveything perfect. When i altered pickup configuration, i did the hacking thing, it wasn't the best solution but my excuse was that i had a pickguard to cover the mess Another opinion would be nice (i may be talking outta my a##.....again!) Quote
goth_fiend Posted December 17, 2003 Author Report Posted December 17, 2003 yeah im gonna have to block off all of the routings minus the control cavity and redo all of it, the previous owner really cut this thing to **** (excuse the laungage) Quote
fidgec94 Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 somewhere on the main site there was a tutorial or something about blocking a trem and replacing with a hardtail i think, looked very neat when finished. Quote
goth_fiend Posted December 17, 2003 Author Report Posted December 17, 2003 im going to be putting a floyd into this guitar unless i can find a kahler, but thats gonna be tough! Quote
Tezifon Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 erradicate the pink finish, block the holes and begin to route, it seems fine to me why not try yo find a ibanez zr tremolo for it?, it can be awesome for slayer tipe of music i think... Quote
goth_fiend Posted December 18, 2003 Author Report Posted December 18, 2003 well i have a trs floyd right now and im not really into slayers music i just like kerrys guitar so i had to have it! Quote
westhemann Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 if you want a kahler new you have to email sales@forgedclassics.com they still build them, but they don't advertise.they are expensive too.about $280.i am still trying to get one Quote
goth_fiend Posted December 18, 2003 Author Report Posted December 18, 2003 damn!!! 280 for a kahler! whoa little much there Quote
DividedByJames Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Was the body originally the Wartribe V model and someone painted it pink, or is this a knock off that you are customizing to look like it? Also if you are on a budget, you might as well start with this. Quote
westhemann Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 the wartribe is a warlock the v is a different guitar altogether Quote
Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 im going to be putting a floyd into this guitar unless i can find a kahler, but thats gonna be tough! I will see about kahlers. There's a used one in the shop I go to. They might have something else if you want me to check. FWIW, they sole me a Bill Lawrence L500 for $25 US. Quote
goth_fiend Posted December 19, 2003 Author Report Posted December 19, 2003 yeah the wartribe is a custom warlock not a v, the wartribe v came out later, does anybody know where i can get a close up of the headstock artwork? and litchfield, that would be great if you could look that up for me Quote
