Intonation/lifeless String Sound.

I finished a les paul recently. I didnt do the fret job,bridge install, or nut.Got it back from guitar tech, looked great.But sounds really lifeless{strings dull sounduing}. Intonation dead on from 12th down.Sounds flat from 7th to 1st.Checked cener line, and the bridge apears to be out by 1/16th,is this the problem. Anyone have any advise,Thanks Chris.

You can quickly check the intonation by fretting a string at the 12th fret and seeing if it plays in tune or sharp/flat.

Try new strings. bad intonation should not efect the string sound (pitch aside) but bad strings can effect intonation.

Sounds like you need to take the guitar back to the tech, tell him to give you the playable guitar you paid for.
