Just unwrapped my new B. Hefner Co. http://www.bhefnerco.com/ Tele Custom Body & I am one seriously impressed happy camper.

Bernie Hefner has a wry sense of humor & keeps his promises despite hectic NAMM show schedules. The shipping went off flawlessly, as in without a single hitch. I'll shop with Bernie Hefner again without any hesitation. I thought I had paid for a cheap two piece Tele Custom body with a thinned heel. What I received instead was a premium quality, absolutely gorgeous ONE-PIECE Swamp Ash Tele Custom body with a contoured heel for under $185US including shipping. This thing ROCKS :D

TTFN & Happy Wet Sanding!

No offense Lazerblitz, but your first post sure reads like a sales pitch for mr hefner.

Just unwrapped my new B. Hefner Co. company web link Tele Custom Body & I am one seriously impressed happy camper . . . . I thought I had paid for a cheap two piece Tele Custom body with a thinned heel. What I received instead was a premium quality, absolutely gorgeous ONE-PIECE Swamp Ash Tele Custom body with a contoured heel for under $185US including shipping. . . . lots of links again . . . .

$185 is a good price, but it's not what I'd call cheap. Cheap is when you win one on ebay for $50. It's a rough economy right now, so if you're really here to try to stir of sales for Mr. Hefner, I can empathize. And if not, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your new piece of swamp ash.

If it quacks like a duck...

Yeah, I probably laid it on a bit too thick...a bit...I wasn't intentionally trying for a sales pitch, but that sure ended up looking like one. Apologies extended & if I have violated protocol, it was purely unintentional. If I seem overly enthused, it's becasue I am. I've wanted to do this for my entire life. Now my dreams are coming true. Blame it on NooB enthusiasm.

Avengers63, that's not exactly the color tone I was attempting, but it's close. I'm trying for something a little more blonde-ish. Nice axe there...Kahler w/soapbars...Mmmmm...

Kenneth, your maple top is awesome & I hope you have more success. I thought about going that route, but I just tend to favor big cheezy pickguards that cover half the body. Call it nostalgia.

Yes, ToddW, I agree that it is all a matter of perspective. After looking at bodies from Warmoth, USA Custom Guitars, GuitarMill, a few others, Hefner was the cheapest route for custom made without doing it myself & I posses neither router nor Dremmel at this juncture...not that I'm knocking $50 Ebay bodies. I've just been burned on Ebay so many times...and I was truly expecting a two piece body for the price I paid. To say that I was pleasently surprised would be understatement.

Mitch...Gabby Johnson is Right! [That's a Blazing Saddles reference for those of you playing the home game...]

And finaly, TYVM for the compliment, Fookgub.

Finishing photos to follow after this #$%& ice storm abates.

Lazer,

When did you order the body? I have a body and neck on order and was curious on your wait time. I am a returning customer, last time I just bought a body. It was a 2pc northern ash strat body, but the thing was so well bookmatched it looked like a 1 pc. Keep posting your progress I look forward to reading all about it.

Err...Uhhh...Order placed Dec. 5th, r'cvd Jan 27th, including five days shipping via FedEx Ground.

IMHO, I think my wait would have been about a week shorter if it hadn't been for the NAMM show. :D

I hope this helps you to set your expectations appropriately, factory5150.

Toodles,
