Blue in VT Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 I just wanted to ya'lls input on where I should go for a good set of feeler gauges to help me set up a few acoustics. I like the looks of the ones that Stu mac sells....but not the price so much... So I'm open to suggestions for alternatives. Thanks! Blue Quote
Claptonfreak Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Feeler gauges aren't originally guitar building tools. Any millwright, mechanic or welder will have a set. You should be able to find some at any place that sells those kind of supplies. Quote

In fact a round gage is prefered by some. Quote
ToddW Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Call up autozone, there's one is essex junction IIRC. That's assuming you're near Burlington. Or try Napa. I know Autozone sells them for under $5 and they're as accurate as the StewMac set at 1/5th the price. Best, Todd Quote
ihocky2 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 McMaster Carr. You can get expensive Starrett ones, or economy ones which work just as nice. Quote
guitar_player Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I bought the biggest set from grizzly for about $4 very accurate and a great deal Quote
