wood is good
Can i ask why you want to have a nitro finish instead of the better finish that is already on there?
westhemann
Seriously...the poly finish on the ec 1000 is superb...it will keep your guitar looking great for many years, unlike Nitro. Don't believe the hype you hear about tone..on the ltd deluxe series, the finish has no bondo or filler under it to deaden the tone... WezV
i concur... it makes no sense to be refinishing it just to change to nitro thickness of finish is more important than type of finish Nitro does have the advantage of getting thinner as it ages but other types of lacquer sprayed well can sound just as good. For the record i only use nitro when its a vintage themed project like my recent 55 LP junior it does make a huge difference if you have a guitar with a thick poly finish like many 80's/90's guitars had.
