WAK Guitars
I'm trying to find a couple different examples of single coil pickups that have a smaller bottom piece of flatwork. Sort of like this example from Seymour Duncan: Notice how the bottom piece of flatwork doesn't have a triangular piece extending from under for attaching the leads. I've been searching for other pickups with the same design feature, but the ones at seymour duncan are the only ones I can find. I'm probably just not searching the right thing or something. So if anyone has some they could suggest that'd be great. It's purely for aesthetic reasons that I'm looking for these. Just trying to see what else is out there. Thanks Edited May 6, 2010 by WAK Guitars
Cam
I have a few like that out of some Korean guitar and a few off eBay if you need me to take pics or measurements or anything?
Rocket
I happen to also be searching these out lately, for space reasons. I found many Duncans of course but also EMGs (and their low budget "Select" single) and Bartolinis.
stereordinary
What you're looking for is also known as a "Jaguar" pickup.
Razbo
I have SC's from a Godin guitar that are like that. Sealed, 5 wire and made by Schaller. Haven't found anything about them online, though, so not sure if they can be purchased without the guitar.
ihocky2
What you're looking for is also known as a "Jaguar" pickup. I'm not sure that is entirely correct. I am not really familiar with Jaguars, but I think their pickup is different than Strat type single coil. Seymour Duncan and several others have eliminated the triangular base to allow replacement of EMG pickups, while keeping the SC look and sound and dimensions. In fact after a quick search here are the dimensions Single Coil http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/dime...pages/as-1.shtm Jaguar http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/dime...es/sjag-2.shtml

I found many Duncans of course but also EMGs (and their low budget "Select" single) and Bartolinis. Those Bartolinis are pretty cool, not cheap though. Those selects would be nice on the budget. I'll keep my eye out for those, Schaller site doesnt seem to be working right now. What you're looking for is also known as a "Jaguar" pickup. I'm not sure that is entirely correct. I may just go with Seymour Duncan, seeing as I'm also trying to get ones with cream covers, and I have no idea whether or not those emg covers come off..... ? Reinhold
Lace Alumitones don't have any flatwork, but don't fit in a standard single-coil pickguard hole either.
Rocket
Speaking of Lace, their more normal pickups don't have the triangular base either. Also, when I mentioned EMGs, and the Select, I forgot to also mention they make a higher end passive line, the HZ. That line of singles doesn't have the triangular base and some have the polepieces showing, for the traditional look. Another non-triangular one I found: Guitarheads active single. It's cheap cheap cheap and looks like an EMG with the solid cover. Black or white.
