moojiefulagin
has anyone ever heard of a butt joint used on a neck body joint (the kind where the fretboard hangs over the top), or would that snap like a twig? Do you have to use a dove tail? Im kinda in a tough spot, with the truss rod already glued in and the neck completely assembled. What about a dowel joint? krazyderek
are you refering to fretboard overhang?? and how much? 2 or 3 frets is about as far as you can go with that.. why not just a standard fender neck joint?
westhemann
don't use a butt joint......a dovetail would be better.are you talking about an acoustic?because usually the neck on an electric goes into the body some
moojiefulagin
I was talking about a 3 fret hangover on an electric. Since the neck is finished, though, it's too late to rout a dovetail
