I made a tutorial for making radii guages

Recommended Posts

I just rig up the router like a big compass. Lexan or plexi is screwed down to a scrap board, and the router moves, and cuts the radius.

Kind of like what you do, except, the router moves and the material to be radiused is stationary. Each gauge ends up with 2 holes, because that's where it was screwed down, then the holes are good for hanging the gauges.

Also a lexan radius "gauge" makes the best fret-pressing tool I've ever used. They bend a little under clamp pressure to perfectly conform to the fret-boards radius, as long as they have a *slightly* smaller radius, where the middle of the "gauge" doesn't quite touch, but after some clamp pressure, it does.

I screw them to a piece of wood, to hold them about 90 degrees, so I don't have to balance them while clamping.

I was wondering how, or if, I can get it published on the main site in the tutorials section, probably under Tools, or Misc. Do I need to email it to Brian or somebody?

Just PM or email Brian. I'm sure he will make a link on the main site, or even publish the whole page.
