BLS Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 I just found this beat up warlock on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...bayphotohosting and was wondering if its fixable it looks like someone tried to route the floyd cavitiy with a drill?? Any way it can be fixed?? Quote
westhemann Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 yeah it could be fixed but i don't think it would be worth it Quote
BLS Posted January 25, 2004 Author Report Posted January 25, 2004 Why not? Too much work or money involved?? Quote
westhemann Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 too much work and you might not ever have anything you really can't see much in those pics...but it would be hard to fix without messing up the fancy paint but if you could get it for under $50 then the neck would be worth it...and maybe you could know better after seeing it what you could do. but those body art guitars really aren't all that Quote
BLS Posted January 25, 2004 Author Report Posted January 25, 2004 I dotn really care about the corny paint but in the pics you cna see that the spring cavity is uneven. I really wouldnt be interested at all but because it comes with the neck i figure its worth a shot. I guess if it goes to under 30 then ill get it. But would i just fille the whole cavitity up with wood and filler then rerout it or what?? Quote
westhemann Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 depends on the extent of the damage Quote
Ace Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 What did that guy use for routing that cavity? A caged beaver? so long ace Quote
daddy ray Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 I just found this beat up warlock on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...bayphotohosting and was wondering if its fixable it looks like someone tried to route the floyd cavitiy with a drill?? Any way it can be fixed?? depending on what they are might be worth buying for the pickups the one on the bridge looks like my dimarzio super 3 dr Quote
westhemann Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 i think those are the cheap stock pickups Quote
GuitarMaestro Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Depends on how much it ends up costing....the neck + PU is worth some money though....So if you can get it cheap go for it! Quote
westhemann Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 i really would not mess with it...you can if you want to but i would spend the money elsewhere but if you could get it real cheap (like $30-$50) then you could make a new body out of alder and use the neck Quote
GuitarMaestro Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 I agree with Wes....I guess the PU's are stock and the body would be hard to fix without damaging the paint. If you get it cheap buy it for the neck. It is still questionable if the neck is so good that it makes sense to built a body for it. Quote
Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Id label a poor route like that with no bridge in it a red flag. And really, you money is better spent elsewhere. Quote
hardlyneeded Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 I have one rule when it comes to guitars. If it's under fifty and the salvagable parts are worth under fifty then why not. Worse case scenario you can use the body as a template for a future guitar and strip the neck and the hardware for later. Quote
