spindlebox
Anybody ever heard of this term? I've used it for a while and it's hard to describe. It's more of an overdrive sound vs. distortion - kind of "tubey" and fat. I had a guitarist in my studio last night and this is the tone we got - a combo of a Twin Reverb, a Vox Copperhead Drive and a Les Paul. Here it is:https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZsTnhVZCu4Yxl1kH7S0VnvkQd9X0zFCy7E7 Anybody ever heard of this term? What do you call it? PS, hopefully that link works! curtisa
'Chewy' is a good term. In the example you provide it has an almost onomatopoeic quality - if you accent the 'CHE-' component of the word 'chewy' it works well. Other words that might be applicable could be 'crunchy' or 'gritty', but I guess different people will hear different things and describe it in their own ways.
