Saving money on wood!

I'm building Guitars for fun, so I don't want to spend to much.

I needed wood for three fingerboards so I bought a piece that would make two, Then I glued the cut-offs to make the third.

It needed to be an 1/8" wider so I added a piece of maple..

The next step will be making three necks out of a piece that'd normally make two, won't it? Using your imagination to make use of offcuts will both save the planet and your wallet! That fingerboard looks classy!

we luthiers are the stewards of the forrest in many respects... I admire any/all efforts to waste not/want not when it comes to wood.
