syndromet
I am planing my first home made guitar, and it will be somewhat simular to a pgm 300, but with a neck-through. Anyone know where i can get a template for the neck? I dont know how long it would have to be, or the diferences in height where the fingerboard starts. It will be a tune-o-matick bridge. CodFather
check ebay, they have alot of templates for sale there, or just type it in google and search, you'll be suprised with the outcome. Is this the first time making a neck through? i suggest you practice on mdf or something before doing the real thing, even with a template you will make alot of mistakes. Making a mistake on a neck through would be painfully cost worthy if you could not undo it. Get your practice in first untill you think your ready. now enough talking about sex and onto the subject
syndromet
Thanks for the help. I will practice a lot before I start the project. I will also get help from a professional wood-worker. I'll post pics as soon as I start.
YDoesGodMockMeSo
if its gonna be neck through. Might I suggest just buying a premade neckthru neck like the one at Carvin? http://carvinguitars.com/products/part.php...?ItemNumber=NT6 Unless you want some custom stuff like inlays/woods. Otherwise, you'll have to make it.
CodFather
^^^ buying the neck would defeat the purpose of making it...
YDoesGodMockMeSo
Well. 1) He admitted to saying he doesn't know much about how to do the neck stuff 2) Assuming he DOESN'T know, when he finds out about all the radiusing, fret leveling, planing, routing for inlays, etc etc...he'll probably think twice about making a neck for the 1st time out. I know I did. But whatever. His money and time. Good luck.
