Curtis
I want to change the color of my EMG85 humbuckers from black to white. I cannot find a replacement cover specifically for EMGs but there are white replacement covers that do not specify whether they will fit an EMG. Does anyone have ideas? Can I paint them? Guitar_dude23
Im pretty sure that you could paint them, Im not sure with what though. It would have to be a durable paint so it wouldnt scratch off and it would have to be a type of paint that would change the sound quality. What type of project are you doing that would have you painting your EMG's white??
MzI
emgs are solid so you cant change the covers, they do sell white emg's, however you can paint them, if you check out kirk hammets mummy guitar he has them painted on that particular guitar MzI

krazyderek
yup, emg epoxy's they're pickups together, no changning covers unless you use good old trial and error to find one big enough to fit over the existing black cover, but then odds are you're pickup won't fit in a ring, pickguard, or guitar. paint.. not sure what type of paint though.. Drak
Unless your really good at painting these types of things, you might consider just selling your pair and buying a white pair, it would look better probably.
Curtis
Thanks for the advice. It's purely a cosmetic issue. Either I'll buy new pickups or scratch the idea. But thanks again. Curtis
