sscovill
Hi, I've got an Ibanez neck that is "fretting out" noticeable on G string at around the 12th fret and beyond. I'm wondering if I'm better off trying to adjust it, or if it would be better to buy a new one. So, if anyone out there has one that is already perfectly set up, fits and RG570 model and is a Wizard or Wizard II, please contact me and let me know what you would want for it. Thanks, Steve sscovill@msn.com
feylya
Just set it up. It sounds like the bridge is too low. I don't have any experience with Ibanez guitars in general but it sounds like it's just a set up issue. Bring it to a shop if you're uncomfortable doing it yourself. westhemann
yeah i think you should try setting it up...neck relief and all that or a fret level and recrown if that doesn't do it...you don't really need a new neck by the way i put your last topic in the classifieds where it belongs
Devon Headen
Could be rise in tongue. I have had problems with that in the past, and that's usually how it behaves. Definitely try a regular set-up first though.
Reaper
The amount you would pay for a full setup would be significantly less than a new neck... and from what you're saying, I'm guessing it can be set up.
sscovill
Thanks guys. I simply raised the trem posts about 1.5 turns and it's working fine. Thanks for the suggestions.
