Kevan
Repair the link, and we shall see. :-) PUHLEASE tell me it's not that horriffic pseudo-Flame/570 copy. Ugh....
LGM Guitars
Flame guitar Unfortunately it was, it'd be ok for $175, you could always use a few of the parts, but holy ugliness IMO.
westhemann
now how can you not like that guitar i admit i ussually have better taste but come on.maybe you should put it on your computers as wallpaper.you'll grow to love it. p.s at least it's not that godawful shark guitar (halfway down the page)
Kevan
now how can you not like that guitar Quite easily, actually. Because the original is so unbelievably better, in every way. Compare for yourself: CLICK HERE for a shot of the original (bottom of page).
westhemann
i understand why you don't like it,but i prefer it over the original because it resembles an rg,which i think is a pretty good looking guitar.but i think it would look better with a higher quality paint job.oh well there's no accounting for my taste.(i also like girls with freaky colored hair and pierced everything so what do i know?) westhemann
nope i'm ashamed to admit it,but i still like it.is there something wrong with me?
Guest AlexVDL
I also like it better than the original... this one resembles more of a normal guitar, and no fragile pointy thing which could easily break when you bump it to somthing
LGM Guitars
I'm sorry, but I really think that thing looks very poorly done, the paint is horrid and the flame cuts aren't even smooth or flowing. and it sure as hell isn't worth any $1500. westhemann
well truth be told i wouldn't pay $1500 for any novelty guitar.you should see the guitar i saw in a pawn shop about a month ago.it was made to look exactly like one of those mirrored beer signs you see in bars and pool halls(bud light if i remember right).it was a charvel, had one cheap pickup at the bridge, and they wanted $600 for it.who would play a $600 beer logo? Guest AlexVDL
Yeah ok the price is way too high. I wouldn't give more than 200 bucks for the thing. But as for the whole model, IMO it looks more like a guitar then the original flame. I would take off the paint tho, and put on an AAAAAAAAAA+ quilt top and paint it in translucent fire colors Oh yeah I would also lose the neck and middle pickup. I somewhat like the 1 bridge pickup thing on weird shaped guitars
westhemann
well there you go alex, that could be your next guitar project.if it was me i would make the top horn thicker to support the top strap button.i have the feeling the one on ebay has it behind the neck pocket.i hate it when guitars take a dive. Kirk
Hey guys, I am sorry that I am chiming in on this so late, but I have to agree with Kevan on this one. I looked at the RG flame and was not impressed. I was impressed with this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...DME:B:EOAB:US:6 So I bought it! Wooo hooo
Guest AlexVDL
Hi Kirk, could you make a picture of the front of the guitar so I can draw the outlines in Cad? I think it's a cool next project for me. I want to build one, but untill now I haven't had the chance to get good quality pics. I just need a good full body shot including the 12th fret of the neck. Can you do that for me please? Thanks, Alex
Kevan
Now that one looks GOOD. And a true score for less than $1K. Nice job, Kirk! Can I play it at Jemfest this year? :-)
Kirk
You'll have to come and pick it up (you can take the DSR head too). I spent the airline ticket money for Jemfest on it!
Kevan
Don't tempt me! I'm pretty damn close to you now (4.25 hrs. south of you). Might have to make a road trip one of these days. :-)
Kirk
Bring it. Mi casa es su casa. I'd come down there, but I am trying to run a business here. I just hired someone, but I'll be training them for the next two weeks - then I actually get a weekend off!!!!
Kevan
Ditto- you're always welcome down here too. We actually have a real house now, with a garage and everything. Oh, and two guest rooms! Quite the difference from the last time you crashed at our place, eh? :-) Let's take this to email and try to work something out in the near future. If anyone sees another Flame-copy on FleaBay, please send me an IM. Thanks. :-)
