soapbarstrat
i think with those, you were really limited with what string gauges you could use. A roller bearing at the front edge, and then a down-pressure roller bearing on the headstock side. If this is a guitar you're thinking of buying, and the price is right, you can probably have that thing taken off, and fitted with someone else, even a stock type nut with some added maple (although it would be a hell of a lot more invisible if the fret-board was rosewood). Of course, that one might work just fine. I've heard they can work better by having burrs on some of the parts sanded with dental sanding strips, etc. they sure look over-kill
Scott Rosenberger
I use those all the time. I'm using the newer Fender/LSR type. The one in the picture is the older style. The newer one is about 3/16" wide. as far as string gauges, you can fit a .52 Low E for sure. I don't know about heavier but a 52 will definately fit
feylya
Na, I'm not thinking of buying it. It's a 91 MIA strat with noiseless pickups, roller nut and locking tuners. Trying trying to figure out this stuff for a guy on the interweb like. Cheers for the help lads.
