sscovill Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Let me change this post to be more clear. I'm going to try to cover a Gibson Les Paul headstock in black leather. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for putting the Gibson logo on top of, or maybe in the leather? Any and all thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Steve Quote
skibum5545 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Leather dye is the first thing that comes to mind. Paint markers is the second. Quote
lovekraft Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Cut it out of white leather and stitch it on, like they do with bike seats! That would be cool! Quote
darren wilson Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Or use really thick leather (like saddle leather) and create a die and have the logo embossed into the leather. Quote
Hotrock Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Or use really thick leather (like saddle leather) and create a die and have the logo embossed into the leather. My thoughts exactly. Or put it in the back and try to shrink the leather over it (if thats possible) so the logo is raised. That sounds like one kinky guitar Quote
Morben Guitars Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 What about getting a metal "Gibson" logo...like from a keychain or something, I know you could find one. Then attaching that onto the leather. It would be 3-D AND cool! The stiched leather sounds good too. The die set may not be as visible from the stage as you may like. Quote
