webster Posted July 26, 2004 Report Share Posted July 26, 2004 this may be normal but my Epi LP std is buzzing untill i put my finger in the strings, switch or p/u. if i turn any one of my vol's all the way down it stops if i turn any one of my tone's all the way down it stops if i turn my tones all the way down and then move both my vols up and down the lowest and highest setting has not buzz but as i move the vols to half way the buzz gets lowder and then get softer when i get past half way what the hell is going on, and if this is norm, why? I'm not very good at electronics but buzzing problems seem to be an earthing problem more often than not. One of the experts will help you out here, but while you're waiting, have the control cavity cover off and check that all the ends of wires are attached to something. Biohazard Posted July 26, 2004 Report Share Posted July 26, 2004 From reading threads of eople's previous expierience with similar buzz problems, i'd say go check all your wiring to make sure everything is wired up correctly and especially make sure everything is grounded properly. It sounds like one of your pickups is wired in reverse - make sure the shield is connected to ground on both pickups, and make sure all your ground leads meet at one single point.
