  3. well, i aint gettin as much progress as i would like, its too cold in the shop, and i dont have a bearing bit yet, i got templates made, but not router bit to route it with!!! I am thinking of doing the truss rod a la Perry style (Randy Rhoads V copy, truss rod adjusted through neck pickup) This will be a pain in the rectal area, but i dont want to have a cover on my beauty headstock Curtis
  4. nah, dont think so it could be your house as a higher wattage output then what is recommended (highley unlikely, but possible) Good luck, the AVT50H is the Marshall Valvestate (if i remeber correctly), they are a great amp Curtis
  5. i used both kristal and audacity, i found audacity is a bit less complicated to figure out Curtis
  6. kinda, its one contiunious curve, for example: on a strat, you have the neck pocket jut up a bit, this one doesnt have that, its just like this: C <-----exccept its facing the wrong way, LOL Curtis
  7. is this a warning to look out for these amps? or are you just on here babbling some useless nonsense?? I read your post 3 times, and barely made sense of it Curtis
  8. try now, i forgot to change the links when i put them in a sub folder on photobucket : Curtis
  9. lol, it was only a rough sketch!! geeze, gettin the third degree already I will revise the plans as i get going a bit thanks for the input though Curtis
  10. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v314/cur.../BassDesign.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v314/cur...BassDesign2.jpg Here it is so far, possibly neck through, bridge pickup only, one volume, reverse headstock, either ash or butternut body with maple neck and not sure on fingerboard, but it will be fretless It needs alot of work, but what i am trying to go for is a smooth curve between the 2 horns, not like a strat, but nice and smooth, not sure on a pickup yet, maybe just a cheapo Fender P Bass style, i mean, this is a learner bass and all. The shaded in part on the bottom is a bevel, i just didnt know how to draw it, lol Curtis
  11. Setch, i got a thread already, its just been a little slow going, too cold in the shop at night, and not starting to work in wood shop yet if you want to see some pics, just ask me what you want to see, lol Curtis
  12. Setch, you are right, thats why i have decided to build a solid body bass in wood class, in the summer, do an acoustic, then in the fall/winter an acoustic bass Thanks again Curtis
  13. i mean difficulty, and by the way i hate that new stuff, its too emo for me, i am talking older stuff I made up some stuff while on the couch just a few minutes ago, starts off with hit the first note of the chord, then pick the last 3 (or 4) notes of the chord backwards (like how you play house of the rising sun by the animals) but this is played much faster and it repeats a bit, then goes into a 3 string power chord strumming, then when the poem is recited, i am very quietly strumming chords, when the poem is almost done, i click on the distortion and do regular power chords, kinda metallica style, but not really, it then slows down, lots of feedback while the poem finishes, then to a small solo (when i say small, i mean a little bit of a melodic part, to a very fast, pentatonic wanking scale at the end, lol) Curtis
  14. Hello all I am in an electronic music class at my school, it deals with recording, mixing, all the good stuff, heres our first assignment: write a poem, 1 page double spaced about anything in the world (me, i chose music and how it affects my life) recite the poem onto a cassette tape (in class) rewind the tape, dub over a guitar/drum/vocal part that you make up i got the poem written, but what about the guitar part?? I dont want to just shred, and i dont want to play emo, what is a good band to check out to get a feel of how it should sound (I am looing for a mediocre rock sound, nothing like led zep or rush though, its over done) I dont want to boast either, but I have been getting alot of compliments on my playing in that class (and the class consits of actual muscians, the best guitarist in the school is in my class, he showed me a little lick today that i think vai would have trouble playing) so, if you want to say s more difficult band, go right ahead, i will surely check them out and see how it goes ohh, and i will be posting some new music real soon, Curtis
  15. what about a Piezo system? do they make them for acoustic bass? Curtis dang, beat me to it, looks like a Piezo will work

  17. glad to see you sprung for a new neck, that old one looked like a POS pics rule, so, bring them on, Curtis
  18. wow, Setch, that was brutally honest, and i realized, your totally right, i am still a complete beginner, and my Jem isnt even finished, its like 65% or a bit more, but alot of people say its really good work, and i guess it just boosted my ego a bit, well, alot, you know how it is, first build and everyone (especially guys with amazing guitars under there belt) say it looks good Curtis
  19. nah, i played a acoustic bass, ver nice it was Curtis
  20. woops, i meant the string loading will be metal Curtis
  21. what about an average smoker to an average pot smoker?? I know this is probaly makin you a little ticked off, but i still believe that someone who regularly smokes cigarettes and pot, the pot is definetly bad for you ohh and wes, i can blame the pot for him eating all my choclate chip cookies? Curtis
  22. wow, that really sucks Matt, i hope it all works out for you ohh, if you ever buy anything from east canada, meet him halfway (my house) and we will all have a huge jamm session, lmao good luck with it man Curtis
  23. thats sick!! how long did that carve take you??? GOTM!!! Curtis
